It's different for everybody, for some people certain fake sugars trigger cravings and can even throw people out of ketosis and cause them to stall. I've never had that issue though, luckily. And now that I'm just maintaining my weight I drink diet soda way too liberally.
Fair enough. I always heard that diet soda still triggered an insulin response which made keto less effective. I'd kill for a diet coke right now haha
I didn't bring enough food I'm gonna die I totally forgot to make a deli rollup and I only have a P3 to last me until 7. I ate lunch at 11. FML I think I might have to have a protein shake
No idea. I only use fizzy stuff when I mix alcohol in. Bubbles don't work for me anymore :/ I can do a poll of friends who love it though
I honestly just drink plain ol carbonated water if I get a craving for soda, and that seems to suffice. Smart Water makes it now.
I've had water, coffee, and tea exclusively for the past week. I need something else to mix it up. Club soda is my go to mixer now, so I don't want to drink that on the side too.
Did keto for like 3 years and lost a decent amount of weight. But I'm veggie now so my diet is all rice and beans. Carbs forever.
I made that low carb pumpkin creamer and it got all gloopy. Like, it's kinda gross. But I think it's because I let the mixture come to a boil, even just for a moment. Mad. I'm trying it anyways. It mixed into my coffee decently well, so we'll see.
I'm trying not to be... but shouldn't I be losing at least a tiny bit each day since I'm following this diet so strictly? I haven't had sugar or artifical sugar in over a week and I feel like I'm going completely insane.
Not at all - small plateaus will happen. Try adding a little extra fat or a little extra carb (sweet potato, cashews, etc) for the day and see if that kicks you back into gear. Change up the physical activity, too. That can help. It's similar to how it was when I had surgery - I had week long plateaus and have had six month long plateaus (before my eating turned to garbage again). It's totally normal.
