I posted it in the other thread but I popped so hard when his music hit. I don't know why, but I LOVE Shibata's and Suzuki's themes.

 

I was so excited to see Shibata. That's seriously so awesome.

This tournament proved that sometimes the obvious story is still the one to tell. Naito's path of redemption to the Wrestle Kingdom main event is going to be awesome.

 

Those two themes may be my favorite in wrestling. They are so unexpected from the guys using them, but when you think about it, they are perfect for them.

 

Yeah suzuki and shibata have killer themes.

Ishii as well.

Honorable mention to AJ and naks njpw themes.

Scurll/Ospreay will be a good feud. Love those two.

Ishii/Naito was fantastic

 

Also Richochet is totally WWE bound by next year, he looked like he knew it was his last Sumo Hall match

 

Suzuki constantly losing to Yano is my favorite running gag.

 

I'm all about Roppongi 3k

 

Tempura Boys were fantastic everywhere they'd been. Awesome to see them getting a push right off the bat. Curious to see if the same thing happens with Jay White. Though, the Junior division is so fucking stacked right now.

 

Yeah, they did fantastic on their excursion. I'm curious to when they'll bring Jay back, I think they'll wait until after Wrestle Kingdom honestly, because the Junior scene is dominated right now with Takahashi/Opsreay/Kushida, with Scurll jumping in now. I can see Jay going up against whoever walks out of WK as champion.

 

They'll probably replace Ricochet when he leaves with Jay White.

 

Really interesting show.

- Young Lions match was actually a ton of fun. Giving them a bit more they can do was good.
- Kushida is incredible.
- Juice's outfit was unreal.
- Do not give a single shit about Henare or Finlay.
- Jr. Tag title change felt weird, but I liked the booking. R3K is gonna be a big deal for a while.
- That was the best I've seen out of Yoshi-Hashi. Sanada made him look pretty darn good.
- Taichi STINKS. Finish to that match was great tho.
- Suzuki deserves to be in the WWE hall of fame.
- Okada/Ospreay was great. Some really awesome spots. Loved their matching Chaos gear.

 

ZSJ winning is a ballsy move, but I dig it.

 

I liked it. I am worried that Naito is losing steam though.

 

Big fan of giving that to ZSJ, as much as I like Naito.

 

I’m not really sure what they’re doing with Naito anymore. I like ZSJ winning but it just feels weird that they’re like actively pushing Naito further down

I still think Tanahashi wins the Cup

 

I think Kenny wins the belt this summer or All In (it'd be a ballsy move for NJPW, but would sell a TON of tickets) and Naito taking it at WK.

 

They did the same thing with Kenny last year. Lost the main event at WK and lost in the first round of the New Japan Cup. Not worried about Naito.

 

Also I know this is a couple days late, but even though the result of the Ishii/Elgin match is flabbergasting, the match itself was sooo good! Wish it had been Ishii’s year to win the tournament and in a swerve challenge Suzuki.
