Just fyi, it’s not 100% confirmed but there’s a lot of online speculation that NTBTSTM will be AMC’s Screen Unseen pick for Monday, if anyone wants to take the chance.
Regal also does Mystery Movie Monday which typically lines up with AMC's. There's a guy on the Regal subreddit that leaks the movie almost every time and hasn't been wrong yet (I think he works for Regal or something) He's already said "Apparently it’s not about the guy who killed himself with a shotgun… That’s your hint"
the mystery movie crowd seemed 50/50 on it. definitely some unfamiliar people that were sold by the end though.
I think I need to see this with a different audience. Like riot said, the mystery audience had no idea what they were getting into (had about 6 walkouts) and the movie doesn’t do much to lay the groundwork of the show. It also has a different kind of pace for a comedy. For the first 45 minutes, I had trouble getting into it. Once it locked into the time travel stuff, it went a lot smoother. Had a good time, need to see it with a better audience and adjusted expectations.
can understand all that, as there were plenty of stuff that landed with me more than the bulk of my theater
I definitely think the movie stands on it's own but I do think seeing it with the right audience makes a difference.
Finally watching the show. On episode 4 and it’s good and I’m enjoying it but the Star Wars bit in the theater was lame.
I am so excited for the movie. I’ve only ever seen the first season of the show though. Still need to watch season 2
