I know there's a Viceland thread already, but this show deserves more love. One of the funniest shows on TV right now.

Thought the pilot was fantastic, need to catch up on the rest

 

It only gets better.

I'm not a Star Wars fan at all, but episode they just did where they go see Force Awakens was so good.

 

This show makes me so happy. Every episode has been top notch.

 

I watched maybe half of the the first episode and wasn't feeling it. I also (am an idiot...) couldn't figure out if it was a straight mockumentary or a Nathan For You style where it incorporates real life with bits?

There are enough people on this site who I trust with comedy who love this, so I'll give it another shot.

 

It's definitely done in a mockumentary style but I think the reality of the show is fairly fluid so it's not as easy to classify it. It's never really clear if the public is in on it. Some people with lines might be but it's clear that a lot of times they are not. It's not exactly integral to the show if they are in on it but the candid feel, the thinly veiled fourth wall and that uncertainty, to me, elevates the show.

From what I've seen out of Matt Johnson he has a lot of fun doing this kind of genre bending meta-mockumentary stuff. This week's episode had nods to his other projects, The Dirties (which @suicidesaints recommended to me) and Operation Avalanche (which apparently has a crazy story behind it too).

 

God I fucking love this show

 

Not sure if this is allowed here but since it's not available anywhere to buy and it was free to begin with I don't think it should be an issue.

Did anyone catch the Mario underwater theme music playing in the Chinese buffet this recent episode? This show is perfect.

 

Missed that. I'm gonna have to rewatch the episode now, but yeah, this show rules.

Last night's episode was a riot. I'm really bummed to see the season finale got here so quickly. It's less painful knowing they have 2 more seasons coming really soon though.
