I'm bumping this just because I started the sequel and don't want to clog the Video Game thread.

Any tips? Because they throw a lot of mechanics at you immediately...

I don't even understand the death mechanic. It seemed like dark souls where if I die, I have to get back to my bloodstain (grave) and retrieve my souls (whatever they are in this game) but sometimes I die and there's no grave at all but I still lost the things. The burst-parry thing also seems pretty...off?

I haven’t mastered the burst counter yet, BUT you definitely get the animal/creature your using hovering over your amerita you drop.

 

I will say 2 has soooo many skill trees it’s overwhelming. Definitely master the ki pulse, and changing stances in opportune times. Ie switch stances in mid combat to throw off the opponent.

This definitely p hard when your first leveling up. A lot of enemies can one hit you if your not careful. Make sure to summon some revenants, and kill them to gain ochoku cups. You use those to summon allies into your world.

 

Here’s what I’m finding. If I die, the spirit will be at the grave. If I die while trying to get back to my grave, the spirit will not be in the spot I just died in a second time. I don’t understand that

 

Also sometimes I die and don’t lose anything?

Oh. Well then I’m even more confused lol. It hasn’t happened to me. I’m gonna play some tonight after Doom.

How far are you? I’m at the second boss, he’s p tough.

 

I just beat the second boss as well, assuming that's the forge boss. I had a summon who basically carried me through the level though. I'm having a rough time grasping the mechanics of the game haha

 

Yeah. Like I said Ki pulse and changing up your stance is the main mechanics I would worry about until your more familiar with the other systems. They really throw a lot at you.
