8th Gen Pokémon not being like Let's Go is the most important thing

 

id love to have platinum, 4th gen is my fave but diamond and pearl do have their issues which are mostly fixed by platinum. that and hgss are my favorite pokemon games. bw2 is incredible and i always felt like way too many people missed out on it. imo it was the last really great pokemon game.

 

The only problem I have with Nintendo right now is Motion Controls. BotW, Odyssey, Let's Go... No one wants Motion Controls

 

I thought XY were pretty fucking good too

 

I loved X/Y

 

It was goody but I still miss the rollerblades, it felt good

 

xy is my least favorite gen and it isnt close

 

5th gen is the worst

 

7th gen is easily my least favorite.

1st gen in my least favorite at this point with how often it pops up

 

1st gen is my least favourite in terms of game mechanics but I think of LG/FR when I think or first gen tbh. Spent more time with LG than any other game I think. 600+ hours

 

a lot to dislike about Let’s Go mechanics for sure but y’all are leaving out one crucial detail and i’m disturbed by it

you could play the whole game with one hand. Gen 8 please allow me to have a drink in one hand and play with the other. i now know the height of luxury and wish not to return

I admit I did REALLY like doing this.

 

Yellow is my gold standard. Being able to get all the original starters was amazing.

 

you can also play the older pokemon games with 1 hand. just set the left shoulder button to mirror the "A" button. it only works better now because holding 1 joycon in 1 hand is better than holding a 3DS using 1 hand.

I assumed there was no way P5 would ever appear on Switch because of the deal with Sony but when Reggie Fils was asked about it in a recent interview he didn’t seem to entirely rule out the possibility so maybe a deal is being worked on behind the scenes - Nintendo is going to have the leverage of a new SMT game in the next couple of years so perhaps they could trade that off to Sony 12 months after it initially drops on Switch in exchange for rights to the Persona back catalogue. You’d think there’s scope to make something happen if all parties are mature about it. I don’t know how optimistic I am about that eventuating, but I’m definitely hopeful.

 

True, but it was the first. I was in 5th grade when it came out. Just the perfect age when Pokémon hit. Nostalgia.

there isn’t a single generation that i didn’t love when i first played it, but there are plenty i don’t have any desire to revisit

I think the best HM games is maybe better than the best RF game, but there hasn’t been a HM/SoS game as good as RF4 in a long time.

 

I thought in terms of creature design the XY gen was a return to form. However, I really don’t have a problem with any gen.
