pretty confident these have been referred to as core games since the reveal and the wording has been more along the lines that the next core games will be more in line with player expectations but i can’t go digging for it rn. regardless it seems preemptive to get really upset over a really vague statement

 

the motion control catching has been pretty much exclusively shit on by all ranges of players. i’ll be real surprised if that becomes the standard

 

No, they specifically announced them as stand-alone games, which is why they announced core games at the same time

 

I really don’t think the mainline games will be that drastically changed by this

Well, they now call them mainline games, so if you want to be technical about it they already did. Of course we won’t actually know until we have them in our hands.

This was also when I finally caved and downloaded Skyward Sword... Can definitely say it's been my least favorite game. So much gotdamn back and forth... and that's coming from a guy who LOVES Wind Waker.

Prime 1 is the game everyone always talks about with that series because of how it changed the franchise and moved things forward in environment design and such, but Echoes is fucking incredible and my personal favorite of the trilogy.

 

Echoes is great but it's way too hard for me to fully enjoy.

 

The website literally has a disclaimer in Swedish that says “This is a rumor...something something maybe an announcement at Game Awards.”

But I truly believe it is happening. Been hinted by a lot of reliable sources.
