In case anyone was interested but hasn’t picked it up yet

 

that is an absolute steal

crap i thought it was 15USD

i mean at 45 it's still a good purchase

 

xenoblade 2 has 14 hours worth haha

 

I'm really enjoying the game and finding myself getting into a good rhythm but then anytime I move forward with the story there's twenty God dang cutscenes for every move I make.

 

Damn this is an insane deal

 

i got annoyed with the custscenes in XCX (and lengthy cutscenes in all videogames) that i skip more often than i should.

but with XC1 i find myself oddly enjoying it. maybe it’s because i feel like im watching an anime, but i havent skipped a cutscene yet (also not sure if it’s skippable). maybe it’s just a right place right time thing

also the game moves fast anyway, and the plot is intriguing enough.

 

Also the voice acting in XC1 is legitimately excellent, some of the best video game voice acting we've seen in recent years, JRPG or otherwise. So that keeps the cutscenes engaging.

no the English, although I'm sure the Japanese is great too

 

Yeah it's really really hard for me not to cringe at english VA in RPGs but this XC game hasn't made me cringe whatsoever yet.

 

English dubs in JRPGs have generally got better in recent years

 

I always listen to the original voice acting no matter the language, no matter how good the dub may be, in games and movies. I can’t imagine why people wouldn’t, which is odd because I did spend my childhood being forced to watch horrendous German lol

 

I thought FFXV had pretty good voice acting also. And FFVII Remake had really good voice acting.

 

Except Barrett

 

I hate a lot of the FF7R dialogue but like the voice acting itself

 

I thought FFVII was good and FFXV was awful lol

 

I thought the main four and Ardyn were all pretty good

 

I just hated everything about the main characters lol

 

I've come up with a new recipehhhh

 

FFXV had some good voice acting though I just side eyed my TV every time I heard that line

I did love Ardyn

 

Played about an hour of Bug Fables this morning. It's very much a Paper Mario game. Not sure if I'm in love with it yet, but will keep playing.

 

Bug Fables looks co but I have no idea when I'll get around to it

 

I’ve been getting back into Splatoon and saw a TON of that. Made me happy

 

The dialogue in XC1 goes wildly between great and super awkward.

Also I don't like that it feels like I'm watching an anime. I rather it feel like I'm playing an anime because that's why I play games, to play them. I think I'm just getting more upset with games wasting my time now that I'm older.

I really wish games did more things like the .hack series did by including OVAs that gave you more about the world and such.
