Feel like as long as Nintendo is continuing the online store, this never becomes a problem, would it? I presume it would continue into the Switch 3.

 

Depends if they continue supporting backwards compatibility. It sounds like the Switch 2 is doing some sort of emulation to support at least some Switch 1 games. If their architecture ever becomes significantly different, it could become more challenging

it looks like a lot of 8bitdo controllers work well with Switch. assume that will be the case for Switch 2?

 

Yeah I would assume if it supports switch controllers, we should be good. Curious to try my 8bitdo Ultimate with it

I understand this thinking, but like I said, most physical games in the last 15 years (except maybe some Nintendo-made games) have been unplayable without patches and downloads. So at that point, does it really matter? Unplayable might as well be empty.

Anyone in the PNW that still doesn't have a preorder; Fred Meyers is doing in-store preorders. Buy a $200 gift card to reserve a bundle. It's pretty low-tech (they write your name in a binder), but my store had 15 slots and I was only the second to reserve on.

Why is BOTW bigger than TOTK

 

educated guess: more pre-rendered cutscenes since it's a Wii U port (vs in-engine in TOTK)

 

Hmm I can definitely see that making sense. Especially if they're upscaling those cutscenes along with the gameplay graphics

 

Checked my Best Buy order to make sure it was still there lol, but noticed they took away the "ready by 6/6" part, but that may have been because I swtiched to store pick-up. It was still there for a couple of days but it may have just finally updated to say they'll let me know when it's ready.

 

Mine pre-order says that they are currently getting it ready for shipping, which I guess in a very indirect way is true lol

 

I still check Walmart daily and we’re standing strong at “Arrives by June 05” but I’ll believe it when it’s in my hands lol

 

My target order says it may not arrive until the 11th of June. That will be a long week after the switch 2 release if true
