I did that in 2017. Citrus Plaza Target in Redlands, got in line at 1 am. and that was when Nintendo was coming back from the Wii U. I'm eight years older than that now and Nintendo just had a successful console

I don’t think the invites have been sent out yet. Unless I read it wrong, they wouldn’t be sent out until May 8 to start and you’d have a set amount of time to preorder if you receive one.

Retailers not offering a set time only helps the bots since those are scanning the page nonstop. Ugh.

Just saw that the new DK game had some pretty big performance issues when people got to demo it. Mostly a camera problem that might not be able to be fixed?

 

I’ve lived through Mario 64 and it’s horrible camera controls. I think I’ll do fine with whatever is wrong with DK

 

I don't think Mario 64's controls were that horrible, especially considering it was the first of its kind and that later games were much worse.

 

Well they said the camera couldn't keep up with some of the action. That's different than wonky old cameras, especially in 2025.

 

They really aren’t that bad

People get very weird in general about old school things, but my stance is that a lot of what we grew up with was done mainly due to hardware and software limitations, and we don't have to pretend that modern innovations aren't a thousand times better. Anyone who would prefer tank controls over just fucking choosing a direction and running is insane.

 

Joe lotruglio should find his way into way more bit character roles than he does

 

My preferred choice for preorder is Best Buy, and it seems like they’re the only ones deciding not to announce the time the preorders go live. So unless they do I’m gonna go with the first.

I can’t help but wonder if I’m missing something in their strategy, because I’m assuming that many others will also preorder somewhere else instead?

Maybe the thinking is they know it will sell out either way so it doesn’t matter?
