I just heard that someone did the math and the assumption is that, tariffs being as they have been announced, the Switch 2 would have to be $550 to just break-even.
Well, there is Pokemon. But yes, of course there are more Nintendo games, they’re just holding back to create a second hype cycle a little later.
It’s sadly ironic how Nintendo could have launched the Switch 2 last fall, but waited to produce more and have a huge launch, and now all of this is happening. The worst timing to launch a console in gaming history.
It’s rough for them but other stuff is gonna go up in price too and in the end the Switch 2 will be the cheaper video gaming option regardless. I mean, the PS5 Pro is already $700 and €800.
Yay I’m still baffled at the price of the PS5 pro. Imagine the price it would have been if it released now. It’d be insane
the only thing baffling about the PS5 Pro is how cheap it is with the performance on offer. A similarly specc'd PC is almost twice the price. and no, nothing indicates the Switch 2 could've launched last year.
I’d argue it’s baffling to think that the market actually wants a console as powerful as that, that has to he sold at a loss like that, despite its insane price, in a world in which like half of active PS players haven’t upgraded from the 4 yet and the Switch is the number one console
And to think it’s almost time to start prepping for the next PS and Xbox. I wonder if they’ll continue trying to be a powerhouse or if they’ll adjust from just “beefing up” the next iteration. I feel like the growing power of consoles and the price it will cost is reaching the ceiling at this point.
We are how many years into PS5/Xbox series gen and there are still only a small handful of games I am sad I can’t play having not upgraded yet from an xbone x. That’s partly me having fairly limited game interests at this point, but this has to be the worst gen for must have exclusives ever.
Yea as much as I think it was weird the direct only had 2 A list first party switch 2 exclusives, the switch 1 lineup is insane at this point and you’ll have no shortage of things to play for a long time.
I for one am very excited for Donkey Kong and I've never even played a DK game in my life. The footage we've seen look really fun, and as mentioned before, seems similar to Odyssey. I'm totally down for that
So correct me if I'm wrong but currently the line-up for this year is more or less Mario Kart 9 Donkey Kong Bananza Metroid Prime 4 The Legend of Zelda: The Imprisoning War Pokemon Z-A and for some reason we need more? a holiday game? what?
to be fair- that's a Hyrule Warriors game, not a "Legend of Zelda" game and YES ABSOLUTELY GIVE ME MORE i do think it's possible that they have a holiday title planned that they can announce later! maybe we'll have a Sept Direct w some holiday releases
Name another publisher that has at least 5 first party titles coming out in the latter half of the year. and that doesn’t even include the “remasters”
I don’t think we NEED another big title for the holiday, but I don’t think Nintendo revealed every title for this year in the switch 2 direct either.
If all we get for those two games is the GameCube versions on Switch Online I'm just gonna finish my damn run in Dolphin haha
