I mean, I'll probably pay whatever it ends up costing because I got my kids so hyped on having a new console for summer break. Which, egg on my face. But it is wild to have the "Find Out" of FAFO happen so immediately with these tariffs.
Obviously the tariffs suck, but I’ve always kind of looked at the $550 base price of a Steam Deck OLED as the upper-end benchmark anyways.
I honestly think it'll be much worse than this depending upon retaliatory tariffs back the other way.
Yeahh I've already seen a twitch streamer say that her products she sells that are made in Japan have doubled or tripled from her suppliers If that's the case... I'm going to Montreal in July lol maybe I just buy one in Canada
the plan, smuggle them back in crates of I Love #1 USA shirts, which, according to my sources, are tariff-exempt
Canada is only 30 minutes from me. I was thinking about that at first, but I posted a photo of Luigi recently and they might arrest me trying to come back over.
Need to learn Japanese and get the region locked Japan Switch 2. Moving out of this hellhole would be the #1 priority but can't afford that right now.
A buddy of mine moved to Japan last year for work and he told me that he doesn’t think he can transfer data from his English switch 1 to the Japanese exclusive switch 2. I haven’t researched it but I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s the case I’ll be in Spain for work in May. If only it was 1 month later…I’d smuggle me one back. Might see if there’s still anyway I could order one while I’m there and ship it to America.
Traveling the world and smuggling foreign Switch 2s back into the U.S. sounds like an amazing side hustle.
Here in tw the prices are (with tax) $430 Switch 2 $470 Mario Kart bundle I’ll probably go for the bundle
