These dev kits are ones that will be publicly purchasable by like indie game devs. It's likely the bigger companies already have their dev kits. This is according to the folks on the Kinda Funny games daily, not personal knowledge. Seems like they'd know what they're talking about but if not it's definitely concerning. I've decided that if Mario 3D is held for a holiday release I'll hold off on the Switch 2 till then. Not a huge Mario Kart guy. Who knows though, I'll probably be swept up in the hype.
this was my thought too. there was so much said about Nintendo showing off the hardware to various software partners behind closed doors the past few years, so there's no way big name third-party developers haven't had kits in hand already.
I think it is coming out in June (July at the latest), so that most if not all of the supply chain kinks have been worked out by Christmas, so that they can go as hard as the possibly can at that point
Hmm, no updates about the new system but what about games for it? I can’t imagine the 30 minutes of new games for a system that will be obsolete this year but maybe the trailers are long.
Now I’m confused, tomorrow is games and next Wednesday is just hardware? Or is tomorrow games for the current gen and next week is Switch 2 hardware/forthcoming games for the console?
there will be no updates about Switch 2 at this, so as far as you know after this event all these games are Switch 1 and Switch 1 only. that doesn't mean it's true.
i think the benefit of this Direct is pushing the last few Switch 1 titles out the door only to highlight next week that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible and will likely offer some sort of graphical upgrade. these new games announced tomorrow are effectively Switch 2 titles as well, so next week's titles will be those designed specifically for the new console
Tbh I was never a big fan of TP but I will absolutely buy WWHD on day 1. I never finished that game but I loved what I did play of it.
TPHD won’t happen until next year. It’s the 40th anniversary of Zelda and 20th anniversary of TP. They’ll make us wait until 2026
I need WWHD bad. Have never had a chance to play and I don't really want to buy a WiiU (that's a lie, I still wanna get one for funsies).
I know I’ve been banging this drum forever, but every halfway decent pc or recent Mac can easily give you the WW/TP remaster you so desire.
