I don't mind when Nintendo does hardware gimmicks, I just don't like when Nintendo designs games entirely around and wholly dependent on said hardware gimmicks (see: Skyward Sword)
Hell, I think Wii is why I quit playing Twilight Princess as a kid haha. I didn't even know there was a GCN version until many years later
It's also misleading. I know it says console, but if you change that to hardware they've kept the same form from DS to 3DS
People upset that Nintendo isn't releasing a console where you control the gameplay with one of those dials that makes barnyard animal noises.
I’m playing Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, the remake of the GCN/PS2 game that I adored as a kid. You can tell from the graphics and stuff like that that, relatively, their budgets aren’t what they used to be, but the magic is still there, with some nice QoL improvements. Hell of a game.
I’m not sure what was the best era for Nintendo games. Maybe GameCube/GBA. Honestly Switch 2017-2019 was really good as well.
I'm honestly hoping the OG controller is compatible with the Switch 2. I want to get some more mileage out of my TOTK pro controller.
The company that let you plug a GameCube controller into the Wii is 99% to come through in that regard, unless the new C button is pivotal.
