so much of the uncanny creepiness of MM is an artifact of the times - I'm not sure how that will translate in high definition and I honestly don't want them to touch the soundtrack. also unlike OOT, the original still remains underappreciated. I would take a true remaster before a remake
Nintendo is setting a precedent where with every fan service appearance from a character from another IP in a Nintendo film there is going to be an automatic expectation from fans that now that IP is getting a relaunch game.
So who in here is gonna try to go for the hard left side path on Star Fox first try? For the unfamiliar it's: Stage 1 Corneria: save Falco then fly through the all rocks arches over the water where the ski robots are Stage 2 Sector Y: Get 100+ enemy kill points Stage 3 Aquas no alternative path. Just kill the boss and beat the level Stage 4 Zoness Shoot out all the search lights Stage 5 Sector Z Shoot down all the missiles and make sure The Great Fox ship takes 0 missile damage Stage 6 Area 6 No alternative path. Just beat the boss Then you get to the true Venom final stage with the Star Wolf all range mode battle on Venom mini boss fight, the true final boss fight against Andross, and the true ending with Fox's dad
Surprised they haven’t released another GameCube game for switch online in a couple months. Last one was Pokemon XD in March…
Eh not a big fan of the Hyperion 3 joycons. Bigger than I would like, it makes my arms feel very far apart when holding the console, and every button is so damn loud. The joy sticks are fantastic though
Nintendo Direct was the ‘most watched’ Summer Game Fest presentation, analytics firm claims | VGC Makes it even more baffling that they seem to be less focused on mainline directs the last couple years when they bring in the most viewers. Then again, Nintendo's marketing has always been odd
Finished up the Thousand-Year Door remake yesterday and loved every minute of it. Never played the original back in the day. Now I’m onto Echoes of Wisdom and really enjoying it so far. What a delightful little game
I just replayed Echoes for the first time since it dropped in 2024. I enjoy the characters and I really felt the need to help them. Love that snow creature up in the mountains. And I love seeing the different races (Gorons, Zoras, Gerudos, etc...) in this style. Very charming game. With that said, this game just isn't among my favorite Zelda titles. The gameplay just hinders the overall experience for me. I spend too much time cycling through inventory and just feeling undecided about which echo I should use. Also, there's not a great mini-game within' this game that I kept going back to. The acorn man didn't do it for me. And the boss fights didn't feel all that fun. I would have preferred if they just made it to where Zelda played like Link and it wasn't about using your wand to generate items all the time. I expected the puzzles to be more challenging since they eased up on action gameplay, but they weren't. I don't even recall much of any puzzles, to be honest. I dunno. I'm happy for those that love the game, but it's a tough one for me to revisit.
That guy who has been developing a unofficial remake of OoT in Unreal Engine for a decade and posting clips of it's progress has officially announced he has stopped development because of Nintendo's remake
