I could never get into OoT. First Zelda I ever played was the original. Bought and tried every one since. But Links Awakening is a top 5 game for me as well as BotW. Wanna give them all a real shot again
Got halfway through it on NSO. Didn't feel it. Felt slightly off compared to Nintendo produced Zelda games.
Off in what way? Honestly, I enjoyed the Capcom games, Minish Cap especially, because they introduced a lot of concepts and items that seemed frankly more imaginative that what Nintendo had been doing previously. That said, I don't remember anything about the overall gameplay that felt any different than any other Zelda game.
popping in here to rep Majora's Mask. once that game nestled itself in my subconscious, I think it's impacted every single artistic interest I've ever had since then
oot, links awakening, and botw are the big three for me. There is so much I love about majora but I wish there was a little more - 1-2 more dungeons and upgrades would have gone a long way
I don't like the idea of losing my progress because I didn't do things quickly enough, so I never really got into MM. I hate timed anything in games
it's not really timed because at a certain point you learn "songs" that slow time or reverse time. the format also is meant to induce anxiety so I get if that's not for you, but the sense of existing in a repeating three-day cycle made for some of the most incredible world building and atmosphere I've ever seen to this day
I got deep into it when it was out on DS. Very excited to complete it on this remake. Still haven’t picked up Links Awakening or Skyward Sword, but I am super excited. I didn’t know how I’d feel about wind waker, but it was such a fun play through even with the triforce quest on the GameCube Nintendo online version.
I think Wind Waker was the one I put the most time into before putting it down. And actually there wasn’t necessarily anything wrong with the games, I think for the N64 and GC games I just wasn’t used to the system and controllers themselves. I was primarily a PlayStation gamer at the time but still bought every console
I think Windwaker has aged the best out of any of the older 3D Zelda titles by a mile. It still looks great due to the art style, and the gameplay mechanics themselves don't feel super dated - something even a younger gamer could dive into (as long as they un-invert the C stick lol) I say that as someone who never owned or played it as a kid, too, so no nostalgia. Only picked it up a couple years ago.
WW is a good game but the part where you have to hunt for the triforce shards might be the worst part of any Zelda game
I just think it's lame how WW HD (in my opinion) downgraded the art by adding a 3D effect and glow to everything heh. I feel like it's an art style that is meant to look closer to a 2D cartoon. QoL upgrades are worth it though which is why I am STILL crossing my fingers it eventually gets ported.
Monolith Soft made a big deal of adding voice work to the heart-to-hearts for Xenoblade Chronicles but the brand new go karts have a quest to unlock them that is not voiced. Such a weird decision.
I get this but I liked it because that’s the open world exploration part of the game. So many side quests
