@oldjersey hey are you watching AGDQ rn? they're playin DK Bananza rn! i always wanted to see how this game gets speedrun, bro is MOVIN
Recently got a Switch 2 after trading in a bunch of stuff. Got the MKW bundle and my son is obsessed with it. Asks me every morning to play, and when I wake up (I work nights) to play as well. Almost got all the costumes for everyone too. Played the demo of Metroid Prime Beyond at Walmart today and really liked it. Might be my next game purchase after I beat Bananaza
I unfortunately havent watched as much as I would like to BUT i did catch that one! Fuckin crazy run give it another year and its gonna be even more wild I bet
I went ahead and just bought all available NS2 Edition upgrades to the games I already own. Mario Party, Kirby, Skyrim, and pre-ordered Animal Crossing.
apparently in addition to the 3.0 update, Switch 2 players will also get a free graphic upgrade for handheld mode only, bumping up the resolution to 1080p while not docked. the $5 upgrade pack will still bring docked graphics to 4K and include all previously-announced features.
there are other features exclusive to the Switch 2 upgrade like mouse controls and voice/GameChat functionality, but most new stuff will be free for all players. it's stupid, but i'm down to pay $5 for 4K graphics in docked mode.
spending $500 for the console that can play their games in 4k... having to spend ADDITIONAL $$ for each game that you wanna play in 4k... oh Nintendo....
Granted it's just upgrades for games I already own but still. Switch 2 Skyrim looks great. Haven't experienced the input lag people talked about.
haven't moved anything onto our microSD Express card yet, but i'm planning on doing so tonight to transfer some other games from my Switch 1 onto the console. the question is if there's any benefit to keeping some data on the microSD vs. the console itself (i.e. faster load speeds). i have a 512 GB card, and right now, about half of the console's internal storage is being taken up by existing save/game data (approx. 120 GB). should i move everything to the card or save some games on the console's internal memory?
Still seeing a lot of people in their 2026 predictions say they think an OoT remake is coming for the 40th. I don't really want it, but I'd get why Nintendo would do it. Too many third party bootleg OoT 4K remasters out there that they'd probably want to just make their own.
Honestly a remake of Zelda II would make sense because there’s no way it could be as bad as the original. Literally anything would be an improvement
I don't think there's realistically much of a noticeable difference, but I tend to keep Switch 2 exclusives on internal and all of my switch 1 games on SD
The deeper I get into TOTK the more I’m enjoying. Mostly side questing and getting stamina and hearts. Haven’t done any of the four main areas yet and have only stepped into the depths once. Got into Hyrule Castle and upgrade all my weapons. These games are so fun. Took back the beach village all morning and had a blast. Also we got our kid Bonanza for Christmas and I really do not dig it. The co op is so bad comparatively to odyssey. It’s a constant sensory overstimulation. Not grabbing me the way it has for other folks. Our kid loves it though which rules. The monster hunter remake and Final Fantasy look really cool. Excited to jump into something I’ve never played or have no familiarity with when we’ve conquered the first party stuff. Bought the switch 2 on a whim and it’s over exceeded all expectations by such a long shot.
thanks for the response. i think the goal is to either move everything over to the card or keep more resource-intensive Switch 1 titles and Switch 2 save data we have physical copies for (which right now is just Z-A and Cyberpunk, although i have upgrade packs for my physical Switch 1 copies of BOTW/TOTK) on the system and move everything else over.
I feel like I wanna do BOTW again before trying to get back into TOTK. But both of these things are very unlikely
Both BOTW play through’s I couldn’t get enough and never got bored, but the second they were over I was happy to not play again for 4-5 years. Eventually I’ll get the switch 2 version of BOTW, but if I finish TOTK I’ll likely have 2-4 years before the next release drops. Wind Waker was magic, I am so excited to play through as many Zelda games as I can. Aside for BOTW this is the first time I’ve been consistently playing games since I was in high school.
