Probably 7-8 hours into TOTK. I played through BOTW twice on switch 1 and it was a lot more effortless to start, I found myself frustrated a lot more in the beginning but I’m into getting into it now. I initially didn’t love all the building vehicles and fusing, but it’s growing on me. Playing on switch 2 is magic. I almost exclusively play docked with a pro controller, we’re on a little trip and handheld is rough with the joy cons. Screen does look great though
Riding on the back on a dragon into a pit that goes to the depths of hell in TOTK was probably the most magical moment I have ever had playing a video game.
I keep saying this but playing games through the eyes of a kid is wild. I had to get a couple of things done and let my kid wander around. I came back and he was all “DAD DO NOT GO ON THAT BRIDGE” he rolled up on a Hinox and couldn’t believe there were just monsters rolling around in the map. Brought me back to BOTW wonder when switch launched. lol also every time I’m free falling he’s all “TAKE OUT YOUR PARACHUTE OR YOU’RE TOAST”
I got Donkey Kong Bonanaza and the DLC. Only just started, but it’s like Mario Odyssey meets the Hulk PS2 game I was obsessed with as a kid.
I have to go back and finish Bananza. I went crazy just smashing shit so much that I burnt out a little lol. I think I'm on the third level
I also went on vacation the day after the game came out, and then went on a work trip 4 days after getting back, so the context switching broke up my attention as a docked enjoyer
The game became a lot more fun when I gave up on 100% getting everything and breaking everything I saw
Recently played through Super Mario RPG for the first time and absolutely loved it. Great game. Now I’m onto Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. Love this series
IGN's 2026 Nintendo predictions Next gen mainline Pokemon as Switch 2's big Nov/Dec holiday release in time for the 30th anniversary Luigi's Mansion 4 as their big Sep/Oct fall release Something Zelda for the 40th anniversary. Not a new title. They're guessing OoT HD from 3DS ported to Switch A drop of all the mainline Pokemon GB and GBA games for the 30th. They don't think it'll be NSO. They think they'll make us pay for it. Mario Kart World DLC that is focused on Donkey Kong We will get an announcement in 2026 of SSBU Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for 2027. They think it'll get the MK8 Deluxe treatment
I could absolutely see a Deluxe SSB as the smart way to keep the franchise going without having to start from scratch and ruin the "everyone's here" feeling in the roster. Plus, it means there's still a chance for Mike! I would think for Zelda they'd drop Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, no? If Nintendo did charge for Pokémon rereleases, I'd have to believe it'd be a compilation like they've done for Zelda, Kirby, and Mario in the past. Have a hard time seeing them as individual paid releases.
Still expecting a first party title this year that heavily takes advantage of the new mouse functionality. Like a Nintendo franchise game that feels like it should be a PC game. Like a Zelda or Starfox RTS or something. Or just Mario Maker 3
