    Hot take I’ve never liked Prime 2. I think the dark world/light world stuff is annoying. Prime 1 > 4 > 3 > 2

I’m glad others are liking MP4, but I found the experience pretty tedious overall. I did like most of the dungeons, with the Ice Belt being a particular highlight, and the music and art direction are both strong. I did not care for the overall world setup, the enemy respawn frequency, or the spongey bosses and enemies. I also never gelled with the controls. My friend that loves the trilogy is having a better time so maybe this series just isn’t for me.

The series isn't really a lot like MP4 haha, also the bosses shouldn't be spongy if you fight them "correctly". Def give Prime 1 Remastered another chance tho.

MP1 update: I beat Thardus (the rock monster you beat by using your heat vision). Got the Spider Ball upgrade. Guessing I am about halfway through. I think I am going to take a little break before continuing.

my partner and i exchanged our Christmas gifts to one another a few days ago before travelling. grabbed him a 512 GB microSD Express and enough in eShop credits to grab the Switch 2 version of High On Life, and in return he grabbed me Cyberpunk for Switch 2 (which i haven't touched in a few years since i don't have easy Steam access anymore, but really liked for the few hours i got to play it).

I have had Animal Crossing for awhile but never got into it. Gotta change that. Just gotta stop comparing it in my head to Stardew.

It was so much fun at first, but I played it enough where I don't have a desire to return to it, even if I started a new game. But still would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it

Just wanna make sure, there is no real progression or a lot of goal obtainment in AC beyond just building up your island real nice and getting NPCs to come live there right?

probably gonna hop back into AC when the Switch 2 upgrade/3.0 update drops in January. been a fan for about 20 years, but NH didn't have the staying power some other entries had

Sounds about right for the most part, but it's been so long that there may have been other goals I am not remembering

Also been working my way through Mario 3d world with my kid. Cant understate how fun playing Nintendo through a kid’s eyes has been. Lots of quality time and goofing around.

3D World was such a fun game. Would love a follow up game in that style, I preferred it over Wonder.

We are very close to the end of 3d world and my character of choice in Mario kart is bowser jr and the rob hog. My kid is psyched! The only thing that is infuriating is the camera doesn’t follow player one so I am often off screen falling off a map when it focuses on his character.

Odyssey was way more fun doing coop than I expected because cappy can do so much independently. He’s getting Bonanza for Christmas and I’m hoping it’s got a similar option.

Has anyone tried the final fantasy 7 demo yet? I have been meaning to. I’ve never played a final fantasy but it looks killer on switch 2

Started playing Animal Crossing and it made me realize that Stardew actually isn't a cozy game and that is why I like it, because like what do you mean all I do is just shake trees and collect bugs? Why isn't the fishing in this the hardest thing of all time? You mean I don't have to meticulously plan out my resource production for the season so I don't stress that I missed something for my bundle fetch quest and have to wait another in game year to get it? There is no alcoholic bus driver I become friends with by giving her beers at 8am everyday?

When you get to the purple shorts quest pretty early on when it's teaching you how to increase friendship hearts with NPCs that is the moment you realize what Concerned Ape was cooking up here lol

I want to play New Horizons again, but I forgot to transfer my island from my original switch to switch OLED back in 2021 and I don't want to restart it from scratch. I'm waiting for the next animal crossing to start an island from scratch again.

This is the EXACT thing I've been feeling about Stardew for years. It's obviously a wonderful game but there's so much about it that doesn't make me cozy or joyous. Animal Crossing is wonderful because I don't have to deal with any aspects of realism.

Stardew is a lot more stressful and goal orientented. It has the trappings of a "cozy game" but it really isn't cozy.. Requires constant time intensive long term strategy, planning, and organising.

For the tone I say it's more surreal than realist. It's like if Harvest Moon was made by David Lynch.
