When I eventually get a Switch 2 I'll probably get the one that comes with MKW, then get DK, and then buy the upgrades to the games I already have.

I didn't enjoy the Prime remaster enough to justify continuing that franchise. It would have to really get a positive reception.

Also will hold off on Air Ride because two racing games at once feels like a lot.

I think playing them both back to back is a little exhausting. I also think a lot of the magic of Tears is revisiting the world of BOTW with a new twist. If you’ve already done two plays of BOTW I’d personally just jump straight into Tears - you’ll appreciate how familiar it feels while still offering a whole new experience.

I played the Air Riders test ride for way too long over the weekend. City Trial remains a blast and I'm very stoked for release this week.

With a lot of Zelda talk, it’s oddly the one game franchise I’ve never played. Which is weird as I’ve always owned Nintendo systems.

I’ve been trying to decide if for the switch 2 I play BOTW or TOTK. I know many people say TOTK is a better version of BOTW and I should just play that … but my fear is what if I really like the game and want to play both, as I’ve heard it’s not as good to go from TOTK to BOTW lol

Chronological is the way to go.

while it is my prerfrred entry, I don’t think TOTK is a better version of BOTW, rather that it builds upon it. They are markedly different experiences but the nuance is lost if you haven’t played BOTW.

That’s what I’m thinking. I feel like there is such a lore and “feeling” around BOTW that I think I want to experience, and then eventually play TOTK after.

I prefer botw. TOTK has some cool mechanics, but it feels more like they tried to jam in a bunch of shit to throw at the wall just to see what stuck. Idk! Hard to put my finger on it, but I've beaten BOTW twice and never beat TOTK because I just lost interest

Super helpful info. Thank you! I'll do BOTW first. Maybe I'll aim to get it in January once work slows down haha

It's so interesting to see which game people prefer. I didn't love BOTW, I thought it was pretty lackluster in a lot of ways and the weapon breaking system was annoying. TOTK I thought was an improvement in every possible way and the fusing did away with a lot of my issues with the weapons.

I'm just hopeful that the next game will be a better blend of OoT/TP style and BOTW because I miss being taken on an epic journey through wild dungeons and weird weapons.

we're never getting a 3d zelda like that again, if you want that youre gonna have to wait for the next 2d zelda to come out

TotK and BotW are great games, but not necessarily what I want out of a Zelda game. I miss the proper dungeon loop.

I just want a Zelda game to get weird with it

What they're doing now is cool, what they did before with 3D is cool, there's a lot to get out of both things, so get weird and do a 3rd or 4th thing

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Link needs to go to space. To fight Space Ganon.

Going to space and creating the possibility of things like lightspeed travel and rifts in dimensions could open a MASSIVE can of worms for Zelda

As long as they don't go full Kingdom Hearts I'm for it (never go full Kingdom Hearts)
