i know the GameCube and Wii versions were 60fps, but everything else has been 30 and it's still looked decent enough (save for Wild World, which supposedly ran at 15fps?). unless the game's abysmally slow, i really don't care whether it's 30 or 60.
I thought it wouldn't bother me but the current switch 1 version was very jarring to boot up on my Switch 2 tbh. But maybe it's just poor backwards compatibility
I think it's that honestly. Nintendo does a right of things right for optimization but they also do a lot of things wrong. There's night and day differences with their Switch 2 editions so far, hopefully this will be more of the same in that regard.
I wish the switch 2 edition was a free upgrade for NSO members like the DLC ah well! Mouse mode looks pretty convenient for re-arranging furniture
It would have added an extra 13 minutes to the direct and they wanted to have a separate news cycle for just Animal Crossing
12 visitors instead of 8 online but only if everyone involved owns a Switch 2 seems like an uncommon scenario for a game that's over 5 years old ngl
It just really made me roll me eyes when I saw it and worries me that they're getting lazy with releases and will keep still putting out stuff that can still work on Switch 1 because of how widely adopted, but technologically behind, that console is
imagine having 11 friends with Switch 2s and the desire to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2026...
I mean, kids just getting a Switch 2 and picking up their first AC want to play with their friends probably
I think the biggest takeaway is there will likely not be a new AC anytime soon. I know some people had speculated maybe it’s a year 2 release for the Switch 2 since they said they were ending content updates in like October 2021 lol
I played AC:NH tons the first year it released and haven’t played it much since. My friends have been trying to talk me into playing it again and I told them I’d wait for the next one on Switch 2. I also think this announcement means the successor won’t be for a while so I might just cave and get AC:NH Switch 2 edition
Jk it was amazing as a kid but it really doesn't hold up as well as NH. I'll always remember it fondly, though.
