So moving this over here, but I'm annoyed because my friend and I tried this out earlier and it is absolutely not how I was led to believe and suddenly everything we're looking up about this feature says something completely different than it did before.

I was under the impression that I could just loan him a game online with a virtual game card but it turns out he not only has to be part of a family group with me (not a big deal) but he also has to be in the same room as me for the initial loan (a bigger deal since he lives across the state), which is fucking annoying.

We're still going to do it whenever we're able to get together, but it sucks cause I was all ready to do good deeds loaning him and his kid games and now it's a bunch of rigamarole.

 

does smashing shit in DKB ever get old?

 

I have been watching a shit-ton of DKB speedruns after finishing the game, and people are really pushing the times lower and lower. I think the current world record is 1 hour and 9 minutes (and some change). This game has a great combo of incredible movement options, along with easily exploitable glitches that make watching these pretty entertaining. I don’t know how much more optimized it can get, but something tells me one hour flat may be possible in due time.

 

Have actual speed run glitches been discovered already, or is it just possible to get through that quickly if you skip all the destruction?

 

I got an unexpected bonus at work this week so I’d figure I bite the bullet. Picked up the Mario Kart bundle today.

 

Yes! There are very easy out of bounds clips that anyone can perform, and these are bringing things closer to the hour mark. One was discovered a week ago dubbed “McSkip” which essentially skips the entire Feast Layer. This one is a bit more difficult to perform but very cool to see executed amidst a run.

Scooped let’s go pikachu to play with my kid. Pokémon has been his most abiding pop culture area of interest. This game rules. It’s so deeply nostalgic for me to replay this region and the co op play and easier difficulty has him completely locked in. I would be psyched to see the same treatment for the gold and silver era.

 

I would happily take another gold/silver remake!

Crystal would especially be sweet since we already got HG/SS back in the day... Love Suicune

 

I don’t know how it sold, but it feels like a no brainer for the first 3 generations that aren’t available to play in their OG format on the switch. It’ll be a bummer to do another game without the co op option.

 

Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu is underrated

 

Let’s Go is my favorite Pokemon game on switch. Wish we would get a let’s go johto

 

I hate that you can only play it with normal control (as in not just one joy con) in handheld and not on TV, so random
