Was reading this one, looks brand new. Donkey Kong Bananza Preview - Our Impressions After Two Hours Of Gameplay - Game Informer Yeah i'm confident there will be a day one patch, it just will be REALLY annoying if we need to have framerate discourse with one of the first big releases on Switch 2.
I got mine tonight too. Too bad I bought a switch 2 on launch day and now I don’t need another. Clowns.
It's so weird how they did this. I keep hearing they did it like a lottery? So when I actually signed up meant nothing? It barely matters to me now, but it's wild if that's true.

So playing Switch 1 games on the S2 improves graphics, right? What about remastered games like Red Dead Redemption 1?
Plenty of games look and/or run better docked even without updates. On handheld however many look worse (can still run better) because the screen is bigger and has a higher resolution whereas the games run at 720p or less on handheld. This is not true.
The Googling I've been doing about this seems to indicate it depends on if the game in question supports dynamic resolution or not, which I suppose makes sense.
In terms of resolution that’s how it works, and indeed makes sense (in handheld it doesn’t work because Switch games aren’t allowed to go past 720p in portable mode, hence why the can look worse on the 1080p Switch 2 screen than on the Switch 2 screen). In terms of framerate it seems that plenty of games that were supposed to be 30 but had a lot of dips do not have them on Switch 2, for example. Some ports (e.g. Batman) went from basically unplayable to fine because of it.
I did! I'll probably play that unless the sicko in me decides to do like I did with the first Switch and play Super Mario Bros.. I don't have money for any other games right now so I dunno. I have a backlog of Switch 1 games too...
If you have the NSO expansion pack, you can also enjoy some of those BOTW and TOTK upgrades and GameCube games :p
I’ve been playing most of the morning. Literally the only complaint I have is battery life. On my switch 1 I played docked 99% of the time, so it won’t be too much of a problem except when I’m traveling (right now)
