That's so odd about the invite from them! Dang, sorry to hear. I did get an invite but it came in super late, probably a week or two before the console released, so I stuck with my Walmart order
I've said this before but I'll say it again: I do not like scalpers and I think they are the exact people to say to someone else "get a real job" while doing this dumb shit.
I ordered my Onn card the day after launch, and my Walmart app said there were only 6 left in stock when I clicked "order"
I for one am shocked key card games aren't selling well when nobody can buy large capacity memory cards
Man this dbrand killswitch situation looks pretty bad. This company cannot make a non-skin product that doesn't have some kind of design flaw and massive recall.
dbrands kinda sucks and I hate their name too. It's such a TV show generic name that just oozes lack of quality products
Hopefully the key cards die out. If I see a physical game that has a key card notice my interest instantly drops.
Looks like their dock adapter that comes with it is trash too. Hard to line up, people are scratching the bottom of the console, and when you try to pull your switch out, you need two hands to prevent the adapter from pulling out of the dock with the switch
I certainly get the aspect that it's a digital game that you could trade in. But as someone that doesn't get rid of many games, the space means something. I considered buying Sonic the other day but once I saw it was a key card I went with Cyberpunk
Sounds like it's mostly third party and indie titles because Nintendo is refusing to sell smaller capacity cards like they did for Switch 1. These companies have to buy the 64 GB card even if it's a 2 GB game, and rumors are that it's about $16 per card (not sure about the validity of that $16 rumor, it was in a Spawn Wave video I watched) It sucks and Nintendo is totally to blame for it
The hard drive space is also a reason for not wanting a key card. I tend to buy physical copies and luckily DK Bananza is a physical game, but games like Tony Hawk (40 GB on switch 2) and Madden 26 (60 GB on Switch 2) are games that require a download even with the physical purchase. That's 100 GB I'll have to reserve for just 2 games. I'm not going to bother giving many games a second look if it requires a download because of that. Gotta save GB space for games I absolutely want instead of game I'm curious about.
I definitely prefer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to Mario Kart World. World is a good game, but it relies way too much on chance. In 8 Deluxe I could sweep the 150 cc cups blindfolded. In World it's like the game is programmed to rarely let you win. Kind of takes the fun out of it when it feels winning all comes down to chance. (Which I know Mario kart is infamous for that, but in 8 Deluxe it wasn't as reliant)
Completely agree. Was actually going to post earlier about how superior 8 Deluxe is to World. I'm really let down by World, personally. Maybe because I got my hopes up too high, but it just feels like a step backwards in almost every way. Knockout Tour is really fun, but doesn't make up for other drawbacks. The open world is fairly lifeless and doesn't really add much for me. No real motivation to complete P Switches or explore much. The controls are a bit finnickity with the karts too. But the main thing for me is the complete butchering of Grand Prix mode. Essentially abandoning 3 lap races in favour of the lifeless, driving in a straight line between each circuit. So boring and really counter to what makes Mario Kart fun (for me). I'm not against it totally, but feel they could have switched the ratio a little between the 3 lap ones and the journey ones, and it would be much more fun.
The Switch 2's super sluggish LCD screen is 10 times slower than a typical gaming monitor and 100 times slower than an OLED panel according to independent testing A ton of people on Reddit are talking about how Nintendo is scum and should basically burn for this and anyone who defends this is awful.
This is the problem with Reddit, people getting obsessed over details that sound insanely important but are basically meaningless for 99% of users of a product
You really don’t have to be dismissive of very valid criticism tho like it’s a wild downgrade from an OLED and you’re paying 450 fucking dollars for the privilege.
As far as I understood this price point was gonna be impossible with OLED. Regardless, I think it doesn’t matter either way because the games look good when you use the Switch 2.
Yeah it does not matter to me at all but I’m definitely a casual gamer and care more about how fun a game is than hardware specs or what kind of screen it is A subreddit called fucknintendo showed up in my feed and man those people are miserable
