I was using switchsniper.com however I never had luck and eventually got lucky in the Best Buy online sale last week

 

Lots of “no way” in this thread today as if Nintendo is at all predictable

 

If someone told us in March they thought that a 3D Donkey Kong game would be this gen’s first major release, we would have collectively said no way.

 

It’s been heavily rumored for years - right down to being created by the Odyssey team.

But I mean you’re also right, Nintendo is not predictable and this is all speculation.

 

The first major release is Mario Kart World :P

I knew you would say this. I mean, yeah it’s true, but also not in the spirit of what I was talking about.

 

I guess anything can happen, but if Nintendo EAD (or whatever they are called right this moment) made DK, as most suspect they did (it certainly looks like one of theirs), then 3D Mario this year is very, very unlikely. Unlikely enough for me to say no way. If I end up being wrong, I’m happy about it.

My other no way was about new mainline Zelda not going back to non-open world. I’m pretty confident about that one too, because a) those games catapulted the series to new heights commercially AND b) the Zelda team (incl. Aonuma) said that they will stick with open worlds for the foreseeable future.

 

I hope Nintendo figures out its online stuff more than anything. The fact that I can’t party up with friends and race with other people online in MKW is pretty disappointing for a game that should be a blast to play online.

Also the game chat resets my settings every time I log back on. Continually having to adjust my settings every time I do a game chat since it doesn’t save anything and it switches my sound output to the system speaker every time.

 

Yeah, Mario Kart is VERY clunky if you're trying to join a game with strangers and your friends. My coworker and I did get lucky though and joined the same lobby at the same time with no issue.

What kind of game is a Metroid Prime game, having never played one? Is it more similar to a game like Halo vs a platforming Metroidvania like Dread?

Yeah, as unhelpful as it might seem, 3D Metroid is really the best descriptor for it.

 

I've never played any sort of Metroid game in my life so I have no idea what they're like haha. I assume that the 2d ones are like Ori?
