I didn’t want to watch the DK Direct because I knew I was going to get it anyway, but couldn’t resist, and just…wow. What else can you even say.
I don't really get why the Pauline thing even needed to be a secret in the first place. They could have revealed she was a major part of this game in the Switch 2 Direct and not replaced her with a stand in anthropomorphic rock thing from the jump and people would have been just as excited.
I’m conflicted about DK. It looks objectively amazing, but I am personally not into 3D platformers with a lot of - for a lack of a better word - mechanics. I like 3D Mario because they do so much with fundamentally simple mechanics.
Seeing a lot of people guessing that the post-game of this will be helping Pauline build New Donk City on the surface.
A lot of different moves that you can equip (?) and level, different transformations that do different stuff, etc.
Anyone got recs for a carrying case? I’ll be flying next weekend and I want to get the all in one Nintendo case but it’s seemingly sold out everywhere.
I have this one. Nice and slim. Doesn’t hold much more than the switch and like 10 game cartridges so if you need more space this wouldn’t work https://a.co/d/i5Whgmj
I got the NEXT case for Switch 2 at Best Buy. It's pretty tough and lets you carry 10 game carts. Only $20. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/next-u...-switch-2-switch-gray/6617242.p?skuId=6617242
Switch 2 already passed 1 million units sold in less than 2 weeks in Japan. That's 1/5 of PS5 total sales in almost 14 days. Switch, on the other hand, has sold 20 million units. Japan really loves their handhelds. Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Won't Slow Down, Surpasses 1 Million Consoles Sold
Bananza looks so good that most publishers would save it for holiday release…what do we think Nintendo has in the bank? Is Metroid Prime 4 going to carry them through Christmas?
Yeah but they are stuff you run into, not something that is on the dpad that you use all the time. In Mario you mostly jump, sometimes kick, that’s more or less it.
Metroid is not a heavy hitter. Pokemon is however, and that’s an October game. Probably they have one more big game coming.
I still think a Mario game is coming for the holiday season. Would also be a perfect time for the first themed console bundle. Metroid and Kirby are for sort of niche audiences.
I forgot Pokémon was releasing this year…honestly that might be enough between MP4, Kirby Air Riders and Pokémon with some scattered third party support. I am a bit surprised Kirby is releasing this year because it feels like it scratches the itch of both someone wanting Mario Kart but also in some ways Mario Party. I hope it is a budget title because I worry it might not do so well with both of those available.
There’s no way, the 3D Mario team (very likely) made DK and they just put out 2D Mario. Mario Maker is a possibility I guess, but I’m not sure they’ll bring that back.
