Going from Lite to OLED was crazy. I think this screen is great, yeah color isn't as deep on an OLED but I'm not gonna shell out 500 bucks for an OLED Switch 2 in a couple years, I'm plenty happy with this With MLB The Show running at 60 FPS and load times almost non-existent, I'm excited to see how much better everything runs on this
Wont be getting my preorder until Sunday unfortunately. Just in time for the Silksong shadowdrop at the Xbox event.
They handled this launch way better than I expected. After the PS5 fiasco they probably wanted to make sure theirs went smoothly.
Mine is still not here and they still can’t tell me where it is and when it will arrive. Getting worried they lost it.
So, even though key cards kinda suck, this is also the case with some of their actual games too apparently. Saw someone online say they couldn't start up BOTW Switch 2 edition without an update. Which is fucking awful for videogame preservation
Scalpers putting these bad boy switch 2s on marketplace for $1000. Like bro I can walk into Target right now and get one. Ill slap the bananas outta you dk
gonna ask y'all for guidance because i have no idea where to start but i'm really looking to get into pokemon and i want to play one of the story based games to see if it wins me over. any recommendations? i was looking at legends: arceus because i can get it in one of those voucher things they offer w the membership.
Pokemon Heart Gold for DS is the best Pokemon game ever made imo and can run on any smartphone But if you're looking for something modern... I didn't like Arceus but I know others loved it. It's nothing like any other Pokemon game. If you have a switch 2 now, Scarlet/Violet would probably be worth checking out, but not on a switch 1 because the performance is seriously the worst performing game I've ever played
if this is gonna be your first Pokémon game ever, I think L:A could be a lot of fun but it's also a bit of a departure from the "main" series. I like L:A a lot though, and if you think it looks fun, I'd say go for it. I second that if you have a Switch 2, Scarlet/Violet is probably a decent shout at this point? The biggest issue that people had with it was the performance, which is apparently mostly fixed. I have my own issues with it, but if it's your first Pokémon game you might not feel the same as me and I don't much want to poison the well, and I thought the story was pretty decent, at least by the end. If you don't mind playing something older, I think HeartGold/SoulSilver is also a great shout yeah. Fan favourites, has most of the modern features, runs on basically anything. I also really like Black/White, I think a lot of fans consider them some of the best stories in the series? They don't really feature any of the OG Pokémon you might recognise though, if that matters to you.
I’m gonna check some stores to see if I can find one and “mine” does arrive I send it back. Playing Mario Kart first, but also thinking about picking up the new Rune Factory. You on that one?
The diamond/pearl switch remake would be a good place to start imo, still feels like an old pokemon game
I agree that Arceus might be good, and I'd recommend Scarlet/Violet over Sword/Shield. HOWEVER, I'd recommend the original GameBoy games which you can play for free if you download the Delta emulator app (from your phone's app store) and then you just have to download a ROM of which ever game you want to play, which you can do easily with a google search. Did not watch this whole video because I'm at work lol but I'd imagine it explains it well.
I had forgotten they existed but Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl could be great first games too. A lot of people are very negative about them but our biggest issues with them only really matter if you played Diamond/Pearl/Platinum 20 years ago (unless I'm forgetting something major, which is possible) so for someone coming in completely fresh I think they're actually probably really great games. I dunno, feels like it's kind of hard to go wrong when I'm thinking about it and advocating for them, lol. Even Sword/Shield I personally really liked a lot, bar the climax of the story being a bit "I dunno man this felt unncessary", and Dynamax being kind of lame as a gimmick? Tons of great Pokémon designs though, which I think is probably the most important part of a Pokémon game for me.
Broke: Fire Red/Leaf Green Woke: original Red/Blue Bespoke: reenact the entire game with Pokémon trading cards
Sword/Shield is ok, it’s just so slow and they def hold your hand for too long. excited to play Violet on a switch 2 because I love a lot of their ideas but hated the execution. sapphire is my fav pokemon game overall
