is this the first time Nintendo has gone "fuck it" and not done something quirky with the console successor name? wii u was a cautionary tale. or was that logo just a mockup

 

DS to 3DS was a simple name adjustment, but yeah Switch 2 is the smartest name they could choose. Let’s people know that despite it looking 99% identical it is the next iteration

No way will it launch in three colors

 

Why not? Two main colors and the third is clearly likely going to be part of a bundle.

 

Is there going to be an OLED option? I wish years ago I kicked in the extra $50 for the OLED when I got my Switch.

 

The original switch technically released in multiple colors too. So I don’t see how it’s that crazy. The Mario Kart themed one is probably just the black or white with different joycons.

Yeah black joycon or the red and blue. Can’t remember if there was others. Not exactly the same thing since the whole console appears to be white or black, but you get what I’m saying. Plus every handheld had a different color too. So there’s precedence for it.

Personally, I’ll be going black whenever I’m able to snag one eventually.

 

Do we think we’ll be able to download already-purchased Switch 1 games to it or will the backwards compatibility only be for cartridges?

Aren’t they even doing an overhaul to how accounts work so it’s easier for just that purpose? I feel like they said that at one point, but I have too much info swimming in my brain at all times to function properly.

 

Awesome, I just want to play games like Pokemon Violet and Brothership on a console that can actually handle them lol

 

i believe the rumor has been that not only will it be full backwards compatibility, but that the system might be capable of graphical/next gen upgrades for most games

 

I would pay an extra $100 at launch for an OLED screen tbh but I don’t think it will be an option unfortunately

 

I want to play my DS games but my DSi XL hasn’t been working properly for a while (it turns off randomly), so now I ordered a replacement battery. Here’s hoping that fixes it. DS games just don’t look quite right on the 3DS.

Also I’m hoping to get Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu (played all other Pokemon games on Switch to exhaustion this year and I need my fix) and Dragon Quest 3 HD for Christmas.

 

Tbh, Violet has so many memory leaks that it'll still probably slow down like crazy after some time even on more powerful hardware

 

Yeah those games won’t be fixed with raw power. I love them though.
