Finally picked up my Best Buy preorder about 6 tn and didn’t get fully transferred and downloaded til a couple hours ago. Really hammers home how awesomely BIG the screen is when you do the transfer.

Mario Kart is pretty awesome so far - knockout tour is insane and free roam is a dream come true. Hope they go game as service model a bit and add a lot of content to it. Map feels huge but I could see eventually wanting more to do. Only thing I’m mixed on after my first hour and a half is the race between courses Grand Prix - it’s fantastic for knockout but I don’t know if I love the “single lap for the actual track” thing. Anyways super super happy w it so far and looking forward to catching up on this thread as I finally try to get some sleep.

 

Using the d pad on the left joycon feels awful. pain in my thumb almost minutes after trying to use it. Yikes lol

 

Better than the Switch 1 joycons anyways lol

 

Playing Windwaker with a wireless GameCube controller is great. I never owned a Wavebird, so it's so nice to be chilling in bed with it. Only wish they added some gyro support to the game even though it's just emulation.

Really hate that Nintendo left those stupid grey bars on the sides of NSO games. If this gives my TV burn in I'm gonna be pissed haha

Alright as someone who only ever used the switch lite the difference in the handheld display is blowing my mind. about to download the breath of the wild update and throw it up on my 4k tv

 

Unfollowing this thread because I probably can't get a Switch 2 until later this year and I am getting jealous of you guys.

 

My hot take is that American teenager is a perfect song and if she made more music like that I might actually be a fan. As it stands, most of her stuff is extremely not for me

I really really like American teenager tho. It’s undeniably her best song. Hell, it might be my favorite song!

 

My sister is who introduced me to her and I admittedly have not gone as deep but part of the alure is the story she crafted behind the songs.

That being said, Crush is very good and I love American Teenager. They let me pick music at work one day and I put it on the playlist and none of the dumb republican clients knew they were listening to a trans woman, so it felt like a win. I think I actually played mostly queer women artists that day, which checks out lol.

 

Btw, any Echoes of Wisdom fans out there, you can apparently now favorite echoes with X and filter your list down with ZR! And it runs in 4K 60fps now

 

Keep seeing all this hate on TikTok about how “Nintendo is a scam” because even if you buy the cart you don’t own the games blah blah blah. “It wasn’t like this on Switch 1” it’s like there’s several games like that. Not to mention PlayStation and Xbox have been doing this for years.

Amazon are an absolute joke. Biggest company in the world and they can't organise delivery to even within 2 days of release with 2 months notice on the preorder.

Icing on the cake is they literally have stock now. People have been cancelling their preorders, placing a brand new order, and getting a quicker delivery date.

 

My three nephews and niece are all in town, and we played MKW for 3 hours last night and had an absolute blast. We’re going through a tough time as a family right now, and it gave all of us so much life.

It was a great way to break in the new system on launch day!

 

I only did one grand priz so far but I felt the same. I couldn’t tell where the level actually was??

Not in the US, you could order one in Europe when the initial presale went up.

 

My hot take is that OLED in general is overhyped (good obv, but overhyped) in day to day use and that a really good LCD can be just as nice to use. And we have been oversold on the idea of OLED because it drives up the price of a product.

That said, Switch 1 and OG Steam Deck used horrible LCD screens and their OLED versions were a huge step up.
