Somewhat irrationally, I have checked my Best Buy order status today more than I have in the past month. I’m ready to see “Ready for Pickup”.

lol, I preordered through walmart Canada and have an instore pickup at a nearby store. Just called them to see if it would be available tomorrow and the lady essentially said 'I dont know anything about that' and hung up.

 

youre better off going in store and asking the electronics dept, but that's a hilarious interaction

 

also good to know they keep the walmart experience we get here in the US up there in the great north

How early are you going to get there? I just went by my Best Buy because the Walmart I got my SD from is right next to it. There was a decent sized line but I’m assuming that it was all people waiting who didn’t get a preorder

 

Yeah, I did some recon and there were 20 or so people outside of my store an hour ago. I’ll probably get there at 10:30 or so. I don’t want to be the only preorder dork that shows up super early but also don’t want to be like 40 people deep in the preorder line either.

 

Yeah I might do a little earlier than I initially planned but I’m not sure. It’s hard to predict since the pre-orders were initially to ship and then I changed it to pick up. I didn’t go up to see if the line was all non-preorders, they did say they would have two lines though.

 

My store closes at 9pm so I don’t expect them to start weeding through the chaos until then. They better split things out into two separate lines or I’ll be upset.

 

GameStop is handling orders so weirdly for people who didn't preorder. They told my friend he could come at 3 today to reserve it, so he did, but when he got there they said he *has to* be back at midnight to pick it up. If you already reserved it, why can't you come back the next morning? Weird.

 

They sent out info that said every store doing a midnight release will have two lines so you should be good.

My Walmart order just went to “delayed” status and says to check back for updates. Lovely.

 

@cryates Someone who is in line at another Tampa area store said there isn’t anyone in the pre-order line yet if that helps haha

 

I just drove by when I went to pickup dinner and no one is in the preorder line. In store purchase line is about 30 deep though. Haha.

 

@morgantayler I assume your order status also still says ‘Preparing for Pickup Tomorrow’?

 

Yeah it’s still the same. I was hoping it would update after the store closed but nope.

Well, my case order just changed to Ready for Pickup, so maybe things are starting to happen.

 

My console and MK order haven’t yet but thanks for the heads up, I’ll start checking
