I hope Nintendo keeps it up with these good decisions. Doing a major over-haul/update with the Zelda franchise... licensing their intellectual property for use on Mobile apps... coming out with a mini-NES that is loaded with fantastic games. Keep it rolling. They've had some major missteps in recent years, but I have high hopes that Nintendo can recapture their magic with the NX next year.
Let's hope their feature films and Universal Themepark attractions turn out awesome. Oh and whatever the NX is
this is fucking awesome. i'll miss the suspense of blowing out cartridges to see if it was enough to get it to work, but i think i can do without that for $60, a shitload of great games and SAVE POINTS.
I am stoked on this. I was just playing Mario Bros. with my (almost) 2 year old son today. He sucks at it...but he's a kid, so whatever.
I love how this basically exists for the late 20s - 30s generation. The NX can come out, but for that group this is probably more exciting. At my job alone there are about 15 people who are buying it, either for themselves or to show their kids what gaming was like growing up back in the day.
This is the ultimate impulse buy. This isn't for the raspberry pi/retropie crowd, nor is it for people who buy the games at retro stores/ebay. There will be stacks of things things at wal-marts, targets, etc. This is for people who just want an amazingly easy way to play a few classic NES games. Most of the games on this list cost at least $20 at a retro games store, or ebay. Hell, Legend of Zelda, MegaMan 2 and Castlevania are $25 each most places these days. Just a super sweet deal with zero hassle for several classics. The fact that it works with wiimote controllers is neat, and the fact I can use the NES style controller with my WiiU is also sweet. I'm definitely buying one of these things because Nintendo. It'll be awesome to have this in the office.
Gonna be so goofy seeing the regular size controller next to the console of the same size haha. November 11th can't come soon enough!
