You should as long as the employees have pulled it out of the boxes. If not, just ask them to. It’s pretty awesome that new switch games at Walmart start at $50 instead of $60.

 

Yeah Walmart and Target tend to have pretty good prices compared to anywhere else. I got Odyssey for like $43 at Target for example. They don't seem to sell out very quickly where I am either, probably because most people buy digital downloads

 

It’s because they use a loss leader pricing strategy, or something close to it. Sucks for dedicated video game stores, especially private ones, but damn man games are expensive.

Good to see LM3 is getting great reviews. I want to get more of these games in a shorter timespan than we have been.

Don’t even begin to give me hopes of Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch. That’s cruel.

 

Just beat Astral Chain and now onto this bonus chapter or whatever. Great game.

 

You almost definitely will have to ask, I always go the morning of release and they dont have it pulled yet, but they have boxes that will literally say don't open until midnight 10/31 that should be somewhere close. You're just gonna have to be clear with them and sometimes a little assertive.

 

An insane part of my former job at a video store was going to Walmart at midnight to buy DVDs for certain big releases since Disney wouldn't send us copies of their movies anymore, so you can absolutely buy stuff from them, just don't be rude because corporate guidance is a little wonky on when exactly to let people buy things for release dates.

Granted, you aren't purchasing 50 copies of the same movie, so they will probably be way more willing to help :')

 

Is there any better surprise than when games turn up at your door and you had no idea that you ordered them presumably because you were drunk when you ordered

Also the physical cover of Celeste is very nice

 

Actually really looking forward to Persona 5 Scramble. Looks great and glad I can play it on Switch. Still weird that you can play the sequel on Switch but not the original, when the complete version of the original won't be released that long before it

 

PS has always had some sort of weird exclusivity deal for main entries. It's definitely anti-consumer, but meh.

 

Yeah I know. But this seems like a proper sequel, not that Persona 4 arena shit. Also that they announced P5TR and P5S so close together. "Here's the complete version on PS4, don't worry you can at the sequel on Switch"

 

A lot of these games wouldn’t have been made without the exclusivity money from Sony.

Everyone with a switch would instantly buy P4G on Switch. That Sony money must be good

 

There are so many good games on sale on the eShop right now and then LM3 comes out in a few days. Oof.

I don’t think exclusives are anti-consumer. Not everything that’s annoying is anti-consumer.

 

Well, it was good when they signed the contract. Maybe now they wish they hadn’t.

 

I don't think they are either. I think in this instance they are.
