Is there anyone else here besides Spyki (who is so hyped now), who was previously gonna hold off buying the console and now decided to get it on day one?

I'm just curious how the thought process went. To be honest, I'm more hyped now than before.

I'm just over the initial disappointment of the reveal and onto the hype for Zelda on shiny new hardware. I've always liked the console itself, I just thought the launch lineup was really bad and they have hardly anything announced for the future. I know I'll have one at some point though so why wait? Life is short, make the switch.

 

I was, I pretty much went through a similar thought process as SpyKi albeit a quicker turnaround I think. I think the system is a great idea but it was a little more expensive than I was expecting and the launch lineup is weak. I was pretty set on just sticking with the Wii U version of Zelda (there's probably some expressing of my disappointment with the reveal a few times the night of/morning after of the reveal). I happened to be around a computer when it was available to preorder on Amazon. I put in a preorder just in case, thought about it for a day or so, realized I'm gonna need this thing sooner or later so hey, why not just take the plunge with a superior (presumably) version of one of my most anticipated games of the year?

So here we are, two weeks out and I can barely contain my excitement for a new platform despite still having roughly the same opinion of the system as I did minutes after the reveal presentation.

 

I'm really excited about it. XC2 would have caused me to preorder one even if it weren't for Zelda.

 

Already a huge fan of the battle system of Xenoblade and I'm sure it will be even better on XC2. While not necessary, I hope they can find some way to improve the combat visually. I liked the big ass boss fights, but it lost its magic for me after a while.

Also if Capcom decides to make the next Monster Hunter on Switch, it is going to get really really crazy.

 

I'll definitely get one for Mario, it's just not something I need right now when I can play Zelda on another platform.

 

Are you talking about XCX or the original? I agree that the big fights lost their magic on XCX, but not on XC.

I loved fighting the Mechons and other larger enemies/bosses always kept me entertained/excited.

XCX became really bland for me after the second to last chapter.

 

@SLADE775 XCX. I'm still not sure where I want to play the first one. I want to play it on the go, but the screen might look so cluttered.

Doesn't really matter but I'm not a big fan of the Switch box, I think the Japanese one looks way nicer

Yeah I'm really starting to regret cancelling my pre-order now but I really needed the cash. I'll only be picking it up at the end of March (as long as there's still stock in the uk) but damn this threads gonna kill me for the next month and a half.

 

The Nintendo Switch Presentation trailer for BotW back in January made me pull the trigger on the Switch. I can't remember the last time I was so excited for a game and that just put waiting to get it out of the question. I've actually never pre-ordered a game, not to mention a console. There's a lot aside from Zelda and the inevitable 1st party games that swayed me. There is a fantastic indie and jrpg lineup already for the year and FIFA actually keeping up with a Nintendo console has me pretty stoked. I've been impressed by most everything I've seen about the console itself.

It helps that I got a much bigger tax return than expected. This may sound silly, but the political climate has me so stressed and depressed right now I felt like treating myself. Having this huge BotW world to escape into, new and exciting but laced with nostalgia, will be the perfect diversion when I need it.

 

I'm still so undecided about buying this. I do have it preordered through amazon, but the lack of concrete info so close to release is really putting me off.

 

The Switch OS definitely feels like it could be Android or Linux based, considering that's what they went with for the NES Classic and the fact that it's an NVIDIA Tegra chipset.

 

I KNOW my girlfriend is going to ask me for one of these. I got her a PS4 with Last Guardian and FFXV for Christmas and she couldn't be more bored with it, so she's saying she's not much of a gamer any more, but now her girlfriend at work is getting a Switch too and I give it 10 minutes after she comes home and sees mine before she asks for one... and she is the one that makes more money than me -_-. Such is the life of a sucker. Her 30th birthday is in May though so I'll prob pull the trigger then.

I need to get this for my girlfriend. Sucks they're sold out everywhere. I'm sure I'll be able to get one once it's in stores.

 

Is Snipperclips a launch title? Everywhere i look just says March 2017.
