Nintendo Switch console sales up nearly 30% in Europe this year

 

I wonder why that is, this hasn’t been the primary franchise so far year. Unless it’s people already buying Switches for Pokemon.

 

Probably has a lot to do with Pokémon, but there's also been a lot out on Switch this year. Not even just the exclusives like Fire Emblem, games like Cuphead, Ori and all the multiplatform games too. I can definitely see why someone might choose now to get one

Really curious how many Switches they'll sell on the Pokémon release week

 

Third-party games Minecraft, Crash Trilogy, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Stardew Valley have all sold 500k copies in Europe.

Damn Stardew Devs must be loaded

 

I imagine Switch sales will skyrocket that week. I bet Switch Lite sales especially go through the roof. Nintendo is going to have an enormous holiday this year.

I'm VERY behind in video games news, but I've been under the impression that the upcoming Pokemon game is basically like a full-fledged entry in the series, where you have a starter, go to gyms, fight Elite Four, etc, but in third person instead of top-down... is that right? Because I'd get that for sure
