i think the last time i was this excited about a game was twilight princess. i had the game in hand but had to wait because it was like 3 weeks before i was able to find a wii lol

 

that sounds terrible haha I'm really debating taking off of work that Friday. I know that I won't be able to get anything done anyway.

 

I desperately tried to find a Wii at launch and every moment after (like everyone else in the world was), ended up settling for the Gamecube version of TP when I still couldn't find one three weeks later or however long the GC version was delayed from the Wii version, then finally found a Wii a few days later.

 

The GCN version is arguably better anyway

 

I thought about it, but I preordered from both Target and Amazon and who knows when they'll deliver it. I don't want to take off if it won't be delivered until 6PM

 

I wish I got the Gamecube version, ha.

 

IMO no question the Gamecube version is the better one, I was just frustrated at the time because I wanted the shiny new thing/to play the game ASAP.

 

Yeah, I took the day off because I planned to get the Wii U version at midnight. Now I've got a Switch coming I have no idea when I'll get to play it. At least if it does show up early I'll be ready.

 

I played it on the Wii and from what I remember, it wasn't bad. What was the issue? We are talking TP, right?

 

Switch can take Ultra SD cards right? First thing I'll do is swap it for a 64GB card.

sounds about right, haha. i spent an embarrassing amount of time going from store to store looking for a wii. i was in college at the time and my friends would fuck with me saying they heard certain stores had them in stock. good times.

 

hey at least you don't have to leave your house that day haha

 

The exact same thing happened to me lol, I bought TP for wii at launch but couldn't find a wii until about a month later. Ended up sleeping outside a Target for one, one of my fondest (and coldest) video game memories haha.

 

I worked at Best Buy when it came out, we weren't allowed to purchase the first shipment, but after that, if we were off the clock, and stand in line like everyone else, we could. So I knew exactly what day we'd sell the second batch, got there at 5AM, and got mine.

 

It's not a terrible version or anything but it forced sword attacks to shaking the Wiimote and I much preferred a normal button press control scheme.

 

I ended up finding my Wii at Circuit City. God bless you, Circuit City, RIP.

 

I didn't have to camp out for mine, just walked in to a target when they opened and they were stocking the new batch they had got in. those 3 weeks after launch were brutal tho haha

 

literally forgot that place even existed

 

I got there at 7pm the night before and was second in line, they had 13 of them. Those 13 spots were taken by midnight.

 

My grandma found a Wii at GameStop like a week after and called me asking if I wanted one haha

 

My mom got me the Wii for Christmas. Didn't ask for it or didn't even want it at the time. She just had more money for Christmas that year and decided she was going to get my brothers expensive gifts and didn't know what to get me. She was getting something from Walmart and as thet were ringing her up they got a small shipment. People were camping out for it but they let her get one
