It’s good. Honestly the fact that that game is as good as it is given its tumultuous history is pretty impressive. Also the open world is really cool.

But regardless of whether a given person likes or dislikes it, it definitely isn’t *terrible*.

I love like half the things about it while the rest of it completely falls flat IMO but it's not terrible

 

I thought this was a good list then I saw KH3

is it weird that im excited to buy and play tokyo mirage on switch even though i have it for wii u and the only reason i dont play it is because im too lazy to set up the console?

 

I was just listing JRPGs that have some acclaim. It would not be on my personal list.

 

I feel like this is a very disingenuous way of putting it as Tim Rogers ... honestly I feel like Kotaku only employs him out of pity. There’s no way they’re getting their money’s worth.

Even then, I felt like he made good points about why he disliked it. Personally I don’t think the 2D mode looks too hot by today’s pixel art standards.

I didn’t say that the whole going to a church thing and picking a chapter isn’t annoying. All I said is that it clearly doesn’t look like a game from 1993, which he specifically said.

 

No, in the video he shows how a lot of the pixel art is literally just the art from the game ran through a pixel filter and various other things.

Again, I’m talking about a text, not a video, in which he says exactly what I say he did, no caveats. And that is wrong, because I’ve already seen plenty of effects you would not see on SNES. Is it amazing pixel art by 2019 standards? No. But he’s going way beyond that and he’s wrong.

I started playing octopath again because I felt frugal and am lowkey blown away by the production values. Might be the most beautiful game on switch to me, the menus alone are so special

 

I still need to finish Octopath lol
