I'm so decked out with games to play I don't even know what I want.

 

i just want to pilot those mechs - no, “Skells” - so badly again.

 

Xenoblade Chronicles X has a lot of flaws, but I think about it so much more than almost any game I have played since. There was so much to learn in the game that I could do over in a new playthrough (I didn't know you could control someone other than Cross until the game was almost over). I would plant my probes optimally, use the other characters more (I only used Lao, Elma, and Lin for the longest time and then it was hard to get enough affinity for the other characters' missions).

I wish they would raise the level cap. I started a postgame affinity mission for Elma and was just getting destroyed by some giant lion thing, and you can't back out of affinity missions.

 

The game makes you feel like you have complete freedom three different times - when you can go anywhere, when you can go anywhere with your Skell, and then when you can fly. I can't think of another game that has made it feel fresh all over again like that.

 

i know. i feel like it had the potential to be one of the coolest games ever, but man it’s so polarizing. the highs of the game i loved so much but the flaws were just frustrating, especially the annoying mascot and the broken progression (when i found out i could get to max level in a few hours so easily it made grinding pretty much useless). annoyed me how hard some of those fetch quests were that i keep googling how to finish and then i spend hours just flying/traversing on a mech with a rewarding combat system and everything is better

mixed feelings for sure

 

if nintendo doesn’t announce a new Mario sports game, they are the worst.
