Yeah I'm thinking they probably shelved it once it became apparent that Retro was going to have to take over Prime 4. My only question there, though, is why four years later it would make financial sense to cancel the game. Like it had to be close to being done right? Unless whatever it was just was not working at all despite all that dev time. It's just a lot of dev time and money to flush down the toilet, is all. Very weird situation. Especially considering Retro at this point has a reputation as a solid developer that gets projects done and does them well.

What do you mean? My understanding was that they were making Star Fox Racing, or whatever it was, ever since Tropical Freeze but then probably shelved that project to focus the whole studio on Prime 4. You think they shelved Star Fox Racing and are making Prime 4 plus another game right now?

 

i finished File 5 yesterday. playing on pt standard. i love how it’s just action from the beginning, and it just ramped up and never stopped

 

that's so funny, for me the exact opposite is true, this game is 90% chill and 10% action haha

 

how??? everything’s like burning and exploding and just throws boss fights every 5 minutes or something

 

I'd say its a solid 60% chill and 40% action

 

I don’t think they worked on a Starfox racing for that long without finishing it. Who knows what’s going on though. I just don’t think whatever they’re working on is being shelved for Prime, because those Donkey Kong games absolutely destroyed Metroid in terms of sales.

 

Yeah I don't know. It's a really weird situation. Just really want something new from them.

 

I feel like they may have started on a game, didn’t like what they had and started over from scratch.

Genuine question @mescalineeyes and @zigbigwig, how often do you let your legion just do some damage while you sit back and hit em with the gun? I feel like I'm using my baton wayyyy too much and I take too much damage

 

flying enemies almost exclusively. the gun actually rules I just got de-conditioned by DMC and Bayonetta to use it because it wasn't this good in those games. Especially considering that holding down the trigger you can reliably trigger sync attacks with the gun it's just dope as heck.

 

also I don't know who needs to hear this but if you do the attack where you let your legion off the chain you can summon another legion.

 

I love my sword legion but im p sure beast legion is gonna become my fav

 

I'm currently on the Axe legion. That said I saw some combos with the Arrow legion that were stupid wild.

 

when you’re not solving Laytonesque riddles for 5 totally normal identical children formed in a semicircle around you.

i love throwing trash though. my wife caught me mumbling to myself getting angry at people for leaving trash in the streets

i’m always part of the action, haha. i love just being in there and dodging and stuff. i enjoy using the x-baton too, to the point that im upgrading my weapons more than the legatus. it does make you prone to taking lots of damage, but it’s fun. i spent some time in the training room too, and learned some of the opponents.

 

I do some good damage I just want to be fuckin better

 

you'll get there. the end game is almost exclusively fight-scenarios from what I've heard. you're supposed to suck the first time around as with all platinum games.

 

arms legion for me. wearing the armor and just being a juggernaut is awesome

 

apart from the sword legion, everyone else has dope L features.

 

Okay good because watching people wreck shit in this game looks insanely satisfying

 

yeah whats up with that. i was disappointed at the first 2 L abilities (don’t mind the bow, but it’s been done before) so when I saw the arms and beast ones I got really pumped.
