Not to be a downer but

On the same note, my SO has been playing Ocarina of Time on the 3DS and seems to be enjoying it a lot. She seems more into LoZ than Mario atm. Probably not gonna change anytime soon due to BotW.

 

I just pray I don't have to see My Body Is Ready in any of their campaigns, it's bad enough Treehouse puts it in every game they translate

 

That switch video just made it look so damn fun. It was definitely more geared towards the average consumer and not any of us who have already preordered, ha. I showed it to my wife (who does not care for video games at all) and she is now fully on board after seeing the 1, 2 Switch portion.

 

I'm 100% going to buy 1, 2 Switch to play with my girlfriend.

By the way, on the marketing: I really liked the first video, and the click sound/logo combination is really brilliant if you ask me.

I knew they wouldn't be charging a huge amount for online.

 

2 bucks a month is a good price. Even if it's not up to Sony or Microsoft standards

 

that video made me want to get 1,2 Switch now, still bitter it wasn't a pack-in though.

 

I hate myself for being 100% ready to buy MK8 deluxe even though I have it on Wii U with both DLC packs. Wish it weren't gonna be $60 though.

 

So does anyone have any guesstimates as to when I would be able to just walk in a store at my own leisure and pick up a Switch? How many months after launch? Will definitely get one but didn't feel a need for launch really.

 

I would not be surprised if you could just get one on March 3

 

I'm like kinda starting to think this thing might be a success. Basically everything other than the full reveal event has been completely right, and I can't imagine much of the mainstream public even knew that event happened. It wasn't obvious until these last couple commercial spots but it's probably the most modern looking piece of hardware nintendo has ever made.

 

I think it will be hit and miss throughout March. They've said they'll only have 2M worldwide for the entire month.
I predict April through October they'll be easy to find until the holiday rush starts up.
If you want one on March 3rd I'd suggest hitting up a midnight launch if you're unable to find a preorder.

 

Has there been anything about Virtual Console yet? Did I miss it?

 

Very little - the only thing they've publicly said is that there will be NES and SNES games, some tweaked to add online play (and even that wasn't revealed talking about the VC itself, we only know that since those will be the monthly offerings from their online service).

 

I know it is a pipedream, but the amount of time I wait to get the Switch is directly tied to the virtual console, especially if they carried over what I bought on the Wii U.

 

just over a month until launch and it boggles my mind that nothing's really been said

 

It makes me think we're in for another...well, every Nintendo platform since they've introduced VC in that we get a game or two a week in a sloooooow dripfeed.

 

So pumped. Gonna start replaying Ocarina of Time 3D tomorrow to curb me over. Picking up Zelda, 1-2-Switch, Binding of Isaac, Bomberman, and Snipperclips. I am chomping at the bit for VC info as well, but I've got enough software alone to keep me busy.

 

Charging at all for a service where you have to use your phone to use its major features is still comical to me.

Heard something about Nintendo wanting to do VR with the switch and waa wondering whay exactly that would even be based on specs.

 

Snipperclips looks so cool.


Bomberman looks... rough

 

Yeah I'd wait for some reviews for Bomberman, I've heard Bomberman fans say that it's rough

 

I really doubt this. They were only going to have 2 million at launch and pre-orders are completely sold out. I don't think this is one of those "show up to a midnight launch" situations. Those are all spoken for. I think you're only guaranteed one on the 3rd if you pre-ordered and if you didn't you have to wait for the next wave. Which could be weeks. Maybe some stores will do a waiting list?
