Original on 3DS?! Son, you have no idea what it was like to walk 8 miles to school in the snow uphill both ways playing links awakening on a gray brick with green screen in 1995!

Six Golden Coins I had back in the day on Game Boy, but Link's Awakening I did not. My first exposure to Zelda was with Oracle of Ages/Seasons at age 10. Then I played A Link to the Past on GBA. Next I preordered The Wind Waker at Walmart and got the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest GameCube disc, played that, and then played Wind Waker when it came out. I was fully in on the series by the time Wind Waker launched. Now I've beaten all of them (except phuxckin Zelda II).

The first time I played Link's Awakening was also when the DX version came to 3DS lol. Which is weird because I did play Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons when they first came out. I guess because by the time I played those two it wasn't as easy to come by a Link's Awakening cart and also I was 10 lol.

i think my first Zelda was Windwaker despite growing up in a Nintendo home, as in both siblings and my mother all loved Nintendo and we always kept up on the news console/handheld. i can't fathom how it happened but i would rent Quest 64 or Space Station Silicon Valley every other weekend yet never give Ocarina of Time so much as a glance. might have been some youthful contrarian shit. but i loved Windwaker and went from there

Minish Cap is maybe the most underrated game in the franchise, it like never gets its due. So inventive and really crushed it with translating the Wind Waker aesthetic to GBA.

I dont think i have ever been more excited for a system then when the GBA came out. I loved SNES so much and we were about 5 years removed from that era and in my mind nintendo was releasing a handheld SNES and that's pretty much what it ended up becoming. AND THEN they release the GBA SP clam shell with BACKLIGHT. Man I fucking love the GBA so much.

Six Golden Coins was probably my most played game until Pokemon came out.

I was never really into Zelda until I traded my friend a copy of Rampage for GBC for Links Awakening DX. It was the first and only Zelda I had beaten until BoTW. Best trade I ever made.

I can clearly remember the day I got my game boy color, advance, and advance sp. I was most hyped for those.

Aside from Pokemon Red, Links Awakening is the game I have the most memories playing as far as GB goes.

we weren't exactly well off growing up but my mom worked her ass off and we always got the new Nintendo system, i think my mom was thrilled that my two sisters grew out of games by the time GBC rolled around because she only had to buy one for me instead of one for each of us. she scribbled our initials on the side of all three of our original grey bricks to complete the 90's-ness of it all. i always got the new system for Christmas of the year it released, except for the Game Boy Advance which i think was the only system i got on launch day prior to being an income earning teenager. picked it up and THPS2 and was blown away.

I was just saying yesterday how mind blown I was by how fucking amazing THPS2 was on GBA. It had no business being a great game.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

It's still one of my favorite Nintendo devices. I'll never get rid of my original.

I played it again like two years ago on 3DS, which is cool because you can use the circle pad instead of the d-pad. It plays really well. It maybe looks a little odd now because it had some pretty ambitious 3D graphics for a DS game, but once you're actually playing it it really just feels like Tony Hawk. It runs great too which is key.
