uh, not charge for the repairs up til this point when they're publicly caught with shit on their ass? if they hadn't had action taken they would've gladly kept getting that sweet sweet repair money. it's cool that they're refunding those people but some of those people aren't even gonna see this. i love my Switch and i adore Nintendo but doesn't mean they're not terrible about a lot of stuff, and drawing attention to a failure in ethics is not inherently pessimism.

And my point is that it's easy to put on your fake CEO of Nintendo shoes on and say 'i would do this and that, free this and fix that' when you have no idea what its like to actually be in that position what so ever and what is feasible and what could be detrimental to your company.

 

also idk if ive ever had Joy Con drift but i only own two pairs and they're both considerably post-launch. i do feel like my right one that came with the system drifts when held sideways as a single controller, ive encountered some fuckery with Mario Kart for sure but have trouble replicating it. that stick gets used so little in other games though it hasn't been an issue, ive never noticed the camera drifting in games where the camera is mapped to it or anything. almost feels more like an interference issue.

The realistic approach would be to address everything much earlier than now and that's what everyone's saying

you misread. the cool thing would have been not charging until a week ago when this issue has been known and publicized since launch week.

you can say this about literally any job you dont have. they have plenty of money to spend on R&D. there are other companies that are way better about this stuff. Skull Candy sucks but they will replace anything no questions asked. my interactions with Apple Support have all been reasonable and generous and i never paid a dime. the example is there and they dont need us making excuses for them, its very hail corporate

Nah yall are right, I legit got excited for selfish reasons. Like I said I just bought drifting used joy cons for super cheap and I thought my contact cleaner would do the job but it hasnt yet. So now I found out I can send joy-cons that i didnt even technically buy and get em fixed for free
