I'd love to hear what someone here would do differently than Nintendo has with joy cons and not just sound like an armchair quarterback

 

I am not praising them until they come out with a better joycon

I'm not sure, but I think they may have had to remedy similar controller situations before.

Like it's great we have a solution to the drift. I just don't like phrasing it to make it sound like we should congratulate Nintendo on this move. They've been ignoring complaints for ever and now that they can't ignore the articles and lawsuit, suddenly they come out.

Maybe next time they can throw in an extra dollar or two to make the controllers less shit.

I've only re entered my Nintendo fandom this past year so i'm not used to their usual bullshit yet I guess

 

I love them but logical and Nintendo don’t alway go hand in hand as we’ve seen with various weird things with multiplayer, save files, etc.

Plus they just announced new joy con colors for october and thats the only damn new thing about em

 

They make some awesome products that I love, but at the same time don't exactly make "quality" goods. I like the Switch, but refuse to buy ports of any games that aren't like super old because it can't really handle it well. Like I wanted Bloodstained but had to go PS4 because the Switch port was a crock of shit. And their controllers are always sort of cheap (though the pro controller is pretty solid--except it's only just now getting a headphone jack, something other controllers have had for years.)

 

Love my switch and I love Nintendo but not going to pretend they're doing out of kindness and not because of the lawsuit lol

 

I like the new controllers for the joycon, but i am not about to drop $80. Other system controllers are like $54 at max (in US and often you can get for cheaper) and last years.

 

But despite all the negativity I am excited as fuck for Fire Emblem in just a couple days.

 

Companies aren't going to fix things for free unless they fuck it up and are called out about it big time.

 

Im stoked because I just bought a used pair of joy cons for 20 bucks knowing it had drift issues and now I can just have nintendo fucking fix it for nothing

 

If you have to ship it to Nintendo will they pay for shipping? Also shipping something is a hassle.

 

Yeah it depends on the service they use, I just had to return something through UPS and it was extremely easy because they have drop off points fuckin everywhere now

 

is this confirmed? or just rumored that is what's happening?

mine started drifting a few weeks ago. had the switch for a couple of years now so def past warranty. but even if they try to fix them I don't really wanna lose my only pair of joycons for a couple of weeks while they maybe get fixed

recently tried the electrical contact cleaner approach and it seems to have worked... for now... hopefully it'll just work long enough until those orange/purples come out

 

Still better than Microsoft refusing to fix my 360 I guess
