Look I'm not a computer expert but we've seen BOTW, which is graphically the best the Switch can offer. There's just no way it can do TW3.

I'm playing Skyrim and messing around in BoTW, but I'll probably sit down on one of my days off and try to get into it haha

 

Boxboy+boxgirl is so good, definitely worth the $10. Reminds me of the flash games I played when I was younger only with a ton more content and a great co op mode

 

You think so? I disagree. I mean, it’s beautiful and the game overall is technically impressive, but I think in terms of pure graphics Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 look better. BotW is also a WiiU game after all (and looks basically the same on both platforms) and the Switch is quite a bit more powerful than a WiiU.

I still don’t think it could handle Witcher 3 by the way, not in any acceptable way. Maybe if Nintendo would remake it from the grouns up lol

 

Well it runs at 1080p on Switch and is far more expansive than Odyssey and Splatoon, which of course, look better because they’re not huge open world games.

 

Yeah this is true, it’s maybe a not a fair comparison. I do think that if BotW had been developed for Switch only that they could have gotten more out of it.

 

I also think that in many ways BotW looks better than quite a few Xbox One/PS4 (open world) games, sharper too, so fuck if I know

 

oof, this is hard because yes to me it's also the most beautiful game but it's obviously due to the art. Honestly BotW and Xenoblade 2 would both benefit of being on much stronger platforms as the Switch's limited capabilities are almost detracting from how good the art is, be that through limiting the resolution, the lack of meaningful AA and... surprisingly in 2019, a lot of dithering.

 

Xenoblade 2 is a technical mess tbh it often looks worse than XCX on WiiU, although the art direction is beautiful

 

Remember when people criticised XC1 on new 3DS for "looking bad"

I think Torna fixed a lot when it comes to XC2, the res never quite dipped that low
