can’t lie Dead Cells is just okay to me but maybe i haven’t gotten far enough to be hooked, haven’t encountered a boss or anything

 

Yeah most roguelikes are like that, gotta git gud to get hooked and it don't happen over night

 

I would assume they all model would support the new joy con, they’d just launch close to the new version of the Switch (as well as with them in the box). I’m also completely making this up.

 

Getting to the final boss in hard mode was so fucking exciting for me. Beating him will feel even better.

 

Yeah that would still be A LOT of sales for an indie game. Switch has been a very good home to them.

 

smaller bezels around the screen and slightly longer battery life is all I would need to throw more money at them.

 

i know you’re making it up it just is an interesting thought that some of the appeal of a model refresh wouldn’t be tied to the model itself

 

The gigantic bezels is literally my only criticism of the Switch

 

battery life is a non-issue for me with my habits. a bigger screen would be cool but i’ve never once thought the screen wasn’t big enough. i def would want it to be in the form of reduced bezels rather than a bigger unit. i don’t think they would make a larger machine anyways for obvious reasons

 

Yeah I mean it would make sense, it would be like Wii Motion Plus basically

 

Performance too. Still get random lag in games and scrolling around, particularly in the eShop, is so clunky. Could be software, but I think the hardware has some serious limitations.
Just a 1080P to 3k OLED display would make the hugest difference, too

I think the fancier will be slightly faster (think New 3DS) and have a better screen.

The cheaper one is supposed to be very child-friendly, like a original 2DS, and handheld only or very handheld-focused. It’s aimed at kids and families that still seem to be responsible for a lot of current 3DS purchases, but also Pokemon and Animal Crossing.

Figures this would happen months after I get my kids a Switch

 

Yeah I know a few people who got their kids a 3DS instead of Switches recently, partly because of size but also because these kids have never had consoles before so there's a billion games on 3DS for them to play

 

Depending on how fancy the new model actually is, I think the current model will either dissapear slowly, or it will remain the entry model. If it’s really more of a New 3DS upgrade rather than a One X upgrade, my guess would be the current model will be gone at some point. If it’s a One X upgrade, the current model stays.

 

Bezels

 

Yeah, the boys' mom tried that but they fought over the DS so I got em a Switch so they could prop it up and play 2 player games

Dumbass me didn't realize they'd just wanna play Super Mario Odyssey and Crash Bandicoot anyway

Handheld one will probably be like 2DS, expensive components removed to sell at like $199 for the kids who are only gonna use it as a Pokémon machine. Idk what the more powerful one would entail but literally all I want are joycons with better build quality

 

Cam called it just OK which is major slander to a game so near and dear to my heart.
