Welp guys, BOTW was the first game I bought when I got my switch, and did not play much, so I'm jumping back in tonight. My second game was Golf Story I guess maybe I'll play that after

Trying to get through Plague of Shadows so I'm all caught up for the new King of Cards DLC coming next month but man I hate the controls on this one.

 

played about 3-4 maps on Wargroove, pretty fun so far. I never played Advance Wars so I wasn't familiar with the mechanics, I was thinking it would be more like Fire Emblem, probably just because of the fantasy aspect. Glad it's not like FE, its nice to have generic units and no leveling system.

 

I dislike the generic units and no level system haha.

 

Yeah but you can play the 27 Fire Emblem games that do great at that amongst many others!!

 

I don't want to have to buy all those systems.

omg that was hilarious. i joined my first splatfest match and after the team formed splatfest ended. i didn’t even get a single match in.

still getting used to playing splatfest on a saturday.

and that's actually pretty fuckin funny, lmao. i at least made it to Wizard Champion last night. was too tired after work today to bother hopping on for the end of the fest.

 

I've played around ten levels so far and so its legitimately one of my favorite games I've ever played. The puzzles are incredibly open ended, I've often gone back and tried completely different solutions that all work. So you get the hilarious "I didn't expect those pieces to combine in that way but actually that totally makes sense" moments you'd find in something like scribblenauts, mixed with really tight and challenging puzzling (even in those first few levels, there were a bunch of times I got stumped for a little while but in the end was always able to discover the solution and learn more about how the game works and never felt 'how the fuck was I supposed to know that?!' its always been more 'oh shit you can do that? that is so cool'). Add in the cute, simplistic atheistic and you've got a winner.

I will have to see if the level of quality can be maintained through the rest of the game, but the concept is unique and clever enough and there is enough stuff you can do with it that I feel like it will be.

 

The best thing I'm reading from people playing is that it's like the perfect level of mildly frustrating and then super rewarding

 

I'm so glad BOTW doesn't have dungeons.

 

Hell yeah I thought I was busy today but all of a sudden my schedule is cleared up for this topic

I could argue it does, those full matches against other 'pros'? Kinda like a dungeon Moose.
