I hardly made any levels, I used it as never ending supply of crazy 2D Mario, which is an awesome thing

it is very good, but i have stepped away since the release of the last set because of my laptop going down the tubes and less time to play. this will def get me right back in

 

i have Eternal on ipad but idk why it didn’t hook me. it plays almost the same as magic

 

visually it’s very Hearthstone but mechanically it’s much more MtG in that you have to draw/play your mana and there is much less RNG than most other digital card games

 

Love any comparison to MtG; so I'll give it a go.

 

also the design team of eternal are also pro magic players

 

honestly the tutorial/mandatory intro campaign turns a lot of people off because for anyone who has played a CCG it’s common knowledge and is pretty long, but they have made it skippable to some degree recently

 

I think I'm going to okay Wargroove on Normal because I hate it on Hard.

 

they make the best co-op games but yeah it is most likely castle crashers which is a very good game.

 

I've played Magic off and on for like 15+ years. Kinda been on a break for some time. In comparison to MtG, what's Eternal like? My interest is piqued.

five factions (colors) that can be played in any combination. traditional mana system like in Magic, but you’re guaranteed to draw at least one mana in your opening hand. from that point on its traditional luck of the draw. no sideboards, but there is a “market” system where you can choose five cards to be in a separate deck, and a “merchant” card can be played to swap a card in your hand for a card in your market. i’d say there’s maybe a higher focus on spells but that’s more of a meta thing and less of a game design thing. you’ll find a lot of your favorite Magic keywords here under new names. it’s laid out visually a lot like Hearthstone to make sure it plays well on phones, but outside of condensing some phases, all the versatility of a turn in Magic is there and presented very intuitively.

there is a monthly sealed league for 12,500 gold. you can earn this in a month pretty easily - i only paid for my first season because i was new and eager. participating gets you an exclusive card back, 14 packs total to build with, and then leaderboard rewards at the end. you start with 8 packs, build a deck out of those, and then you get 2 more a week or so to improve it with. it’s GREAT for new players to mess with card synergy, build playsets, and be on an even playing field with vets.

you can grind out a packs worth of gold in a day easily between your daily quest and the chests you get for winning your first 9 games in a day (you earn gold for every win after that too, but less).

modes:
- League: described above. recurs monthly.
- Ranked: the bread and butter. recurs monthly, gives leaderboard rewards
- Campaign: campaigns can be bought with ingame gold or premium currency, award full playsets of exclusive cards.
- Draft: traditional Draft that costs free gold or the optional premium currency.
- Forge: limited format. you participate in a smaller, cheaper draft against prebuilt AI opponents. is cheaper to play but also awards less packs. rank rewards reset with each new set.
- Gauntlet: constructed format. AI mode that is entirely free, it’s like a gauntlet/tower mode in a fighting game. if you beat them all enough times you rank up and get rewards. rank rewards reset with each new set.

like Hearthstone, they alternate between campaign sets and booster sets.
