They also did that with the Bravely games (same team as Octopath), which makes sense given how Japan-centric their games are I guess

 

just looked into the Bravely mobile game as a time killer at work... it got an English release that is listed as a North American release on the FF wiki, but apparently it’s only certain regions? the App Store link from the official English page brings up a thing that says it’s not available in my region. what a weird release.

 

I tried playing a dragon quest on my phone before and quickly gave up. touch controls aren't for me lol

 

they also force the DQ games into portrait orientation which is just weird

Yeah I just did some research and it looks like that's true, a certain somebody on this site was the one who originally told me otherwise but this is great news!

 

Pick one color, red/purple/green to build on with the scrolls (dont do green), red is good for close combat and purple is great for turrets (my favorite weapon) as well as long distance stuff. I made the mistake at first of thinking I just have to be strong af and hack my way through the game and kill everything but it's more than that.

 

Dude I got through like 60% of VIII then couldnt take it anymore, I fucking wish I could transfer the save data it is so fun.

I guess it will say damage dealt or damage received too?? Thats the difference? I cant picture if items say that on their descriptions

 

so damn confusing but what they are saying is how I'm reading it too. "+25% damage" is added to the DPS of that weapon, not an increase in damage received. I have seen modifiers that say "+100% given, +100% damage taken" appear but I always re-roll those.

I know A LOT of people love it and it's critically acclaimed. Not my thing, I found it incredibly easy and repetitive/no real sense of accomplishment.

My tastes are weird. For three dollars I think it's worth it to see if you'd like it yourself.
