I mean that as a positive thing, and as someone who still loves the series. Pokemon is for the children. Doesn't matter whether we think any of the games have been good as long as the kids like it still.

Ultra Sun/Moon on 3DS are definitely not dead. That community doesn’t die until there is a new game.

 

I always mistakenly say Golden Sun got me into RPGs but in reality I forget that I probably would never have even enjoyed Golden Sun in the first place if it wasn't for playing the crap out of Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal first.

Pokémon is a great gateway to the RPG genre for young players that also has enough depth and strategy for older players to enjoy as well. Pokémon truly is for all ages, much like most things Nintendo makes. And it should always remain that way, no matter how much whining goes on.

 

Mainline Pokemon is accessible for kids (and casuals) and at the same timee incredibly deep AND competitive for those who want it. It’s for all ages in the best way possible.

 

Playing through Earthbound right now and it reminds me a lot of Pokémon
