Golf Story

 

Every time you guys talk about Golden Sun i always fill in “texture like brown” and I KNOW ITS THE WRONG WAY ROUND

 

I need to take a week off work and just play my switch and clear my catalogue so i can start FFIX

 

I'm thinking of quitting my job just to play video games, thoughts?

 

Here's a funny story: when Golden Sun originally came out in 2001, I was 11 years old and had pretty much no experience with JRPGs whatsoever at that point. I had no clue about the concept of a battle you're "supposed to lose for the story." So for the longest time, I was resetting the game after I lost that first fight to Saturos and Menardi in Vale, thinking I had to win it, never realizing that if I had just let the game go on I would have progressed the story. Took me days of being frustrated as hell to finally figure it out.

 

I support this decision. Not with money but with good will. You can buy groceries with good will right?

That's probably exactly how I started it too haha. Idk even how I decided to buy the game since I definitely wasn't much of an RPG guy

i've had this EXACT thought. a direct sequel to BOTW with the same engine/world but more populated. more towns/shops, blacksmiths to repair weapons or BUY weapons (would've loved that)

 

Hollow Knight looks great, I'll def need to get that too when I get a Switch. I just assumed it was related to Shovel Knight lol (not that that would be a bad thing)

How about a Zelda game where Ganon isn’t the direct boss. Like maybe someone is trying to bring him back.

you can craft some of the best weapons after they break and it works exactly as you described. there are specific npcs who do that.

 

OH YEAH; you can remake the Champion weapons in their respective towns if they break. not any other ones tho

 

i don’t normally engage in discussions like these but i do enjoy reading them (even the bad takes!). obviously no one’s going to censor anyone here unless they are way out of line, but yeah it’d suck if a new person goes here excited to talk about their favorite Nintendo game and the first thing they see is 2-3 pages of back and forth on why Breath of the wild is shit and not shit (and Golden Sun). maybe hold a splatfest for that

i’m sure we’ll find a balance and this is just one of those times. i can always just delete the thread (loljk)
