I liked the weapon durability too...but I found that by the end of the game, I barely used some of my better swords since I was saving them for later in the game - but never got around to using them.

 

i was entirely indifferent to weapon durability

 

I'm generally against weapon durability in general as a concept, but it's usually not enough to make me dislike any game that it's in. I do think that some of the durability in BotW should've been higher though.

 

I think this was my biggest issue. The durability as a system was fine, but some of those weapons needed to be more durable

 

ugh all i can think about is how bad i wanna play Hollow Knight. i was liking it a lot but now that i’ve got most (all?) of the abilities that had kept me from exploring certain areas and it doesn’t feel so walled off i adore it and can’t stop

 

I just wish there was an option to shut off weapon durability ;(

 

I liked weapon durability a lot in BOTW but I wish the champion weapons didn't break. I never used any of them, I just displayed them in my house.

 

Out of the new ideas BOTW had for Zelda I think weapon durability was a good idea. But yeah some weapons should've definitely been more durable.

 

Weapon durability is one of the worst game mechanics ever and they implemented it terribly in BOTW. Having a repair or similar feature of going to local blacksmiths with all the junk you have would have been awesome.

 

Yeah I always thought itd be cool if they would've had a feature where you could collect pieces like the ancient springs/gears or even wood/metal scraps and go to a blacksmith to have them repaired.

That way during a battle, it sucks if your weapon breaks, but at least you don't have to completely get rid of it.

 

I think having a repair feature is kind of what’s wrong with weapon durability usually. Because like, what’s the point of having it if you can just repair them? It’s just another thing to manage and doesn’t really add any “fun” to the game. The way it was done in BOTW is cool because it forces you to experiment with different weapons and use what you have available.

 

Bow durability was weird as hell though like what

 

"niiiiice a sword that lights things on fire"

breaks 3 seconds later.

"well, that was fun"

 

I don't have time for weapon durability in games. Seems so lame to me. I play games to escape, not deal with ultra-realistic problems.

 

I personally didn't enjoy the durability at all. I think it could be tweaked to work better in the future, but as it was I hated it.

 

Finding good weapons to only have them break a while later got old quick for me

 

granted you had to have a certain amount of hearts to get it and it was on a cool down timer but they did kind of give you an out on weapon durability with the master sword. the durability was annoying in the beginning but towards the end I was swimming in weapons it never bothered me, breaking a bow always sucked though.

 

weapon durability didn’t bother me at all, enjoyed it a lot tbh.

i have some complaints with BotW here and there, but that is def not one of them.

 

Regarding the content of this thread: I agree with what Shrek said, it shouldn’t just be news announcements and comments about them. However, it currently also often isn’t the positive place it should be. What would you all prefer to see more of? Because I personally would like to contribute more based on that.

And please don’t say “good discussions” because I don’t know what that means anymore on the internet ;D

 

Also, I like weapon durability, though I could have done with the occasional special weapon, like Dark Souls maybe
